In Step With . . . Vincent D'Onofrio
BY JAMES BRADY
In this week’s “In Step With,” James Brady interviews actor Vincent D’Onofrio, star of the hit TV show Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Considering D’Onofrio has worked with some of the most acclaimed directors in the movie business including Stanley Kubrick, Oliver Stone, Spike Lee and Tim Burtondoes he have any desire to try directing? “I’ve never directed,” says D’Onofrio. “I’ve produced and acted, and I don’t take directing lightly, as I remember how Kubrick directed. But maybe one day I’ll direct.” Later this year, D’Onofrio returns to the big screen in the comedy Thumbsucker, an adaptation of Walter Kirn’s novel of the same name. D’Onofrio plays Mike Cobb, a man whose teenage son seeks help to break his childish thumbsucking habit. The film co-stars Tilda Swinton, Keanu Reeves, Vince Vaughn, Benjamin Bratt and Lou Taylor Pucci as the orally fixated teen. How did Vincent D’Onofrio develop his Law & Order: Criminal Intent character, Bobby Goren? Find out in this week’s “In Step With.” Vincent D'Onofrio says he has no immediate intentions to direct.
