New York Post - Page Six

This was in today's New York Post - Page Six. It's not the most flattering description, but since we vowed to bring news we are providing the link for you.

I would remind everyone that Page Six of the New York Post is a gossip column. And they call it gossip for a reason. My personal philosophy when reading these columns is to swallow a ton of salt first and then not to believe anything the way it's written.

With that in mind, here's the link to

'INTENT' STAR FAINTS ON THE SET

Salt could not wash down the bad taste of this slander. Those folks are prime quality garbage. No wonder Vincent goes into media blackout. He finally started coming out a bit, Monte Carlo,TV, etc. and we were so enjoying it. This crap will drive him in deeper and who suffers - we do. Vincent - WE DO NOT BELIEVE IT. I would not let them get away with it either. This maybe the first time Vincent should speak up IMHO. What kind of image is that to cast on him - Post slime mold. I truely wish he would come at them with both barrels on this one. If not Vincent, maybe Mr. Wolfe would since his name was evoked. Sickening

I just hope he is okay - what is the fainting about anyway?? V get a check up - please take care of yourself

I agree with you Merlin, what an awful article. Can you imagine - fistfights? PLEASE! Who would believe this - it seems entirely out of character for Vincent. And, Mr. Wolf's comments were a bit cryptic if you ask me.

The entire country was overwrought about the election - I was so stressed out last week I found it hard to concentrate on anything. I'm sure there was political discussions on the set as there was in most businesses. So what - it was almost our civic duty! Can you see Vincent passing out flyers?

I feel so badly for him - for someone as private as Vincent seems to be - to have it reported that he's fainted and then to have lies printed about him on top of it. I hope he knows he has thousands of people who wish him nothing but the best. Feel better and take care of yourself Vincent - we're all thinking of you!

This will blow over. They have bigger fish to fry, and all will be forgotten tomorrow.

Thank you, earnhartjrFan! I happen to agree with you - this will be all forgotten by tomorrow when something else happens to someone else.

My wife and I send our best to Vincent for a speedy recovery.

Thanks for the story. I am sure it is overblown, and unfair. I hope he doesn't vanish from interviews because of it. We love you Vinnie!

***show creator Dick Wolf said via a rep: "The stress of being the first among equals on a one-hour television drama is the most exhausting job in show business. Hours are long and stress levels are high."

Perhaps they should rethink sending him all over the globe for PR. Let him rest. That he was hospitalized for several days speaks to what little truth is in this article - and thanks for pointing out that fact.

These rags dare to print whatever they like for a several reasons:

1. It is costly for a celebrity to sue, so most ignore the slam(s)unless they are so egregious that the celebrity just must respond.

2. It is up to the person defamed to prove that what was said is not true; the rag doesn't have to prove it is true.

3. The more the controversey, the more the free publicity for the rag.

4. The rags' sources are protected by the 4th ammendment, so a celeb would have to find away around that to determine just how the false information got to the rag

Most of the time, it just isn't worth the effort. However, when it counts, some celebs have sued and won. Carol Burnet sued a rag that called her an alcoholic based on her supposedly stumbling/falling as she came out of a restaurant. She sued and proved the rag wrong and then donated the money she won to a charity.

I know people can change, especially under stress, but this guys been in the business for a long time. how many films has he done? 40? 50? never heard before that he had an overblown ego or was particularly difficult to work with. other than the stress and being more in the public eye, I can't imagine he'd go from 0 to 60 just because of L&O:CI.

someone has a chip on their shoulder. The heavy right-leaning tone of the gossip makes me suspicious of their objectivity. (don't misinterpret, if it were heavy left-leaning I'd take the same stance)

Ugh, this is such trash. Come one, Post, if you're gonna print lies at least make them believable. No wonder Vincent doesn't want to be in the public eye!!

I hope he is feeling better and its nothing serious.. I've been worried about our V-man!!! Get well soon Vincent. and dont let these jerks at the Post bother you!!!

I agree with everyone! What a pathetic thing to publish, even for a tabloid page! What bugs me is the thought that others dislike him.Who hasn't been there?None the less,I do not believe it.
I also agree that many people were upset over the election results (including me). I gave some thought to leaving for Canada:).But I think all these things sound so unlike what I pick up from Vincent that it is almost laughable.those who hate themselves must lash out at others, those who spread garbage will have it return to them.
Good luck Vincent,I am sure you will not let this bother you. It is a flash in the pan and soon it will be forgotten. You will not.
