Vincent won't be replaced

Lately, the rumor mill has been in overdrive about other changes both real and imagined. Wolf sets things straight:
• Vincent D'Onofrio, star of Criminal Intent (Sundays, 9 p.m. ET/PT), is not being replaced by Chris Noth. Rumors started swirling that the combustible D'Onofrio posted anti-Bush screeds on the set, irritating other cast and crew members. Rumors were compounded when the star had two fainting spells, forcing a brief hospital stay.
The Bush-bashing rumors amounted to "tabloid journalism," Wolf says, and the offending "signage" actually took place on L&O'supcoming fourth edition, Trial by Jury, which D'Onofrio has nothing to do with. Wolf acknowledges that Noth, previously on L&O, was on a short list of possible replacements drafted during the hospitalization. But D'Onofrio is back, so "that step was not necessary. Vincent's done an incredible job the past 3½ years, and I would like him to be there for the rest of the show's run."

Thank you so much for this post! I know a lot of us fans have been worried about Vincent and the direction of the show. It is great to finally hear an official statement! Now, if we could just see some new eps...

WOOHOO! You tell'um Mr Canis Lupus!!!! Happy, happy! Like I said there are only 2 people I would believe Vincent 1st, Mr.Wolf 2nd (biz-a-niz interests considered). Now come on Vincent and Rene, show the Desperate Burb slobs (self edit) what "good story" is all about! Yes I am happy!. ps Vincent, we, your fans, order you to stay healthy, don't over do, and please don't leave!!!!! okay? okay!
How early do you gals get up??? I got a Google in the early am that day, but you already had the news that Wolf had spoken.
Also, you expressed your thanks to all who visited the site and made it the number one VDO spot. However,many thanks go to you for all the great pictures, collages, wallpapers, and articles. The site ranks number one in visits because you two keep it up, going, and current.
So there really is a St. Nick!!! At least that's what I think because my wish came true. Would have been nice to actually SEE him in my stocking, but a definite return to LOCI will absolutely due!
Great news and it sounds like he has Wolf's support. Combustible D'Onofrio - has a nice ring to it - at least better that "troubled" I'll take a firey VDO any day!

Well, this clears up how DW was directly attached to the replacement issue - as a possible temp. That makes sense. The creativity of yellow journalism...
