When Det.Carolyn Barek talks to herself at crimes scenes, Sciorra's character seems designed to be a cross between the psycho mistress she played on The Sopranos and Vincent D'Onofrio's eccentric Det. Robert Goren on Criminal Intent. But her line readings are so flat, Sciorra seems stiffer than the show's murder victims."

I have tried to like detective barek, but there is no way I can even begin to like this very uninteresting, flat, monotone and lifeless character.. Logan would be able to handle his share of shows without her....that's my personal feeling of course. Have said from the start, that I am totally disappointed in her on this show...
lets give anna a break all of the other characters are established hers is new we should give her time to find it.
unfortunately, hubby and i both are bored by this duo. not just her. they are too much alike in their delivery even if they're supposed to be different in personality.
i really wanted to and tried to like it. i'll still watch, I'm sure. At least until I give up the effort to care even a little bit about the characters.
Same reaction to CSI:NY - love Sinise and am sad that his and the other characters are so lackluster.
I have to agree with everything Shadow has said. yet I will still watch cause of Logan and help to keep Bobby and Alex on.
I have not seen any of the Logan episodes but she is a good actress, so maybe she is doing her best within the constraints of what the writers are giving her. Maybe this will shake up the writers.
