"Welles"review ~ SF Chronicle

SFIFF: Vincent D'Onofrio revisits Orson Welles
May 1, 2006
By G. Allen Johnson, Chronicle Staff Writer

...Anyway, D'Onofrio must have been tickled by his one-scene turn as Welles, too. He has made a 30-minute short film, called "Five Minutes, Mr. Welles," and it plays at the San Francisco International Film Festival as part of the compilation of shorts entitled "Domestic Dramas" (there's only one showing left: Wednesday, May 3, at 12:30 p.m. at the Kabuki)...

...Yo Vince -- I loved the film. I can't wait for your next turn as Welles, perhaps in another decade. Like the fat 1958 Welles setting up the famous crane shot of "Touch of Evil" near Venice Beach? Keep hittin' the spaghetti there, big guy.

looks like this reporter didn't like Vincent's short film about Orson Welles. In fact,in the last paragraph,he was poking fun at his performance. I wonder, why aren't all VDO's Fans, critizing this guy for attacking,V.verbally.

Some things are not worth attacking. If that is this man's opinion, then he is more than welcome to it.I think D'Onofrio did this film more for himself than anything else, because of his displeasure of OW in Burton's film. With that in mind, attacking this guy for his opinion would be a waste of time and energy.

Bryde, in other interviews by reporters who gave Vincent bad reviews, the reporters were clobbered, verbally, by V's fans, for daring to write"as they commented" garbage. I'm not saying that this particular reporter should be"attacked" for his opinion. What he writes is his own business. I'm just surprized that there weren't more comments, made by fans, about this article.

maybe it wasn't "mean" enough or blunt enough...maybe no one is having a PMS week (I can't blame my mood on it even),who knows?;)

Reviewers like this are like trolls on the internet... they're better off being ignored.

Criticising a performance is one thing but personal attacks... very juvenile and unprofessional.

Did someone else dub his Orson impersonation again?
