Dick Wolf talks about "Law" and his re-order
Dick Wolf took the stage Friday afternoon and tried to make nice before talking about the changes in the "Law & Order" franchise. Another edition would be premiering August 14, he said.
With that, the lights dimmed and a signature voice introduced "Law & Order: Special Letters Unit," in which Muppet detectives hunted down the letter M. Wolf went on to explain that "Sesame Street" would be plowing through all 26 letters of the alphabet using this format, then joked about getting 4-, 5-, and 6-year-olds hooked on the brand.
Except it wasn't really a joke, if you know Dick Wolf. Wolf is an executive producer who speaks the language of revenue and proliferation instead of storylines; he leaves that up to the cogs in the "Law & Order" machine we know as writers and actors.
Following the oh-so-cute Muppet segment, Wolf starting throwing out percentages: 52 percent of TNT's schedule is "Law & Order." "SVU" takes up 43 percent of USA's, with "Criminal Intent" filling another 25 percent. "Intent" is also the highest-rated series on Bravo. The format is at work on French and Russian television; in France, Vince D'Onofrio's character is being played by Vincent Perez, which is just not fair.
....Finally, Julianne Nicholson crawled out of the wreckage of "Conviction" to win the role of Detective Megan Wheeler on "Criminal Intent," which moves to Tuesdays at 9 (also starting on Sept. 19). One might wonder if viewers will buy such a quick transition from one Wolf show to another, until one takes into account that a) Nicholson now sports a pixie cut that makes her look like a young Shirley MacLaine; and b) c'mon, did anyone care that deeply about "Conviction"? Nope.
Also joining the cast: Eric Bogosian, set to play Capt. Denny Ross.

~ The new ADA, Kent (the part reportedly gone to Nona Gaye) is not mentioned here. There are rumors that there is more auditioning for a new ADA, yet Nona Gaye is still listed on NBC's Media Village CI page. We'll see in Sept!!
Thanks to EH for update.

thats great..i really liked conviction especially julianne..cant wait to see it..
LOCI on Bravo----My sister-in-law and I love it---every Sunday afternoon from 6 to 11 and then some---With my cable sonnection in NJ I am lucky to get USA and Bravo---which means I get to watch LOCI everyday--
LOCI on Bravo is great. I get to watch Vincent over and over again!
It is sweet! I just love the man.
I can't say that I'm familiar with Julianne Nicholson, but, as far as LOCI on Bravo, I have to share that I just begged off the phone with my mom last night because she dared call during the 7:00pm hour - LOL! She, of course, understood when I asked her to try to imagine that her Jeopardy was on from 6p to 11p on Sundays...
I've really been wondering what's going on with the ADA part because as of today Showfax is still showing that the part is up for auditions. I wonder if she didn't work out as they had thought she would or backed out of the deal for somethig more lucrative.
Nona Gaye has a little boy, so it's possible that she may step down because she would either have to take him to NY or move without him. But she's still listed on NBC, so we'll just have to wait and see for now.
I didn't like Julianna in "Ally McBeal", but I did like "Conviction", though I didn't think it would survive. Julianna got better, but she'll have to be more polished to fit into the NYPD.
