"Criminal Intent" compelling, but inconsistent

Reuters, Sept 24
By Randee Dawn

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - A time-slot jump and the loss of three cast members as well as two original executive producers would gut most shows. Yet "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," now in its sixth season, has ably dusted itself off and gotten back to business. Full article.

Blah, blah, Blah....this was written by a Noth fan. I appreciate being able to read this, but I think we are all such VDO fans on this site that we'd agree this writer leans to Team Chris. However, I like the information...shoot we love Jamey Sheridan, but he's gone, we'll recover. Sometimes life/shows/teams must "shake up" to get better. I am still excited if last weeks episode is a foreshadowing moment to whats to come!!!
Thanks again.

Perhaps 'high melodrama' for the A-Team because NBC are finally realising Vincent (and Kate!) are the backbone and life=blood of C.I? However, I DO keep repeating to myself, 'No Noth, No Vincent' so we must be nice to Chris ;-)
Despite being on the 'wrong' side of the pond, thanks to a very generous technical-wonderwoman of a friend, I was fortunate to be able to see 'Blind Spot' over the weekend, and really enjoyed it. A great start to season 6! I think there could be some interesting dynamics to come between our Beloved Detective Goren & Captain Ross....Thank you for the article.

So I am guessing that those on the "wrong side of the pond" receive TV from the United States late like they receive movies late?! How can we change that so they can watch the program close to the time that "WE" do;therefore, boosting the ratings chart that comes out. Because If I am correct, then those ratings charts are only dealing with those watching the shows at the times it airs on both coasts. So maybe since the UK is like 8 hours ahead, they should see it 8 hours ahead of the "US" and help out the LOCI ratings.hehe!

I'm on a hunt to get this show Numero 1! (I know it may not seem fair to some that they see the show 8 hours ahead, but how is it fair that they see the show 5 days behind)!!!!

Yes, Yes, wishful thinking!

I agree with other opinions here. Chris Noth is definitely on the B Team of LOCI. Although in the mother show he was the one that stood out. If we, the loyal fans of this series do not support both the A and the B team, slipping ratings might just let this show slip away altogether. Therefore, we must endure CH getting some billing over VDO and his name in the press over VDO. (not to much but a little bit) I am wondering
also if maybe there wasn't to much cast exchange for this new season.
To bad they didn't gradually slip them in one at a time. I to miss Jamey Sheridan and the new captain was never my favorite actor from the get go. But I will watch the show no matter what just to help keep the ratings up there and keep LOCI AND VDO on tv. IF VDO and Erbe should ever be gone from LOCI, so shall I.

Yes Swimfish1, we're just getting the last few episodes of season 4 in the UK (which we got not in the order they aired in the States - they annoyingly kept 5 episodes back!) and I've just been told the channel showing it put 'Shibboleth' out at midnight last night when all the others have been either 8pm or 9pm on a Saturday. I'm so mad I missed it, I'm damn near vibrating around the room with temper.
It will probably be 2008 before season 6 gets over here on TV.

At least the author managed to slip this in between all the "YAWN" comments:

***Where "CI" is less interesting these days is in its out-of-character camerawork stylizations and a heavier reliance on score. Why ever would "CI" want to be like every other cop show on TV?***

Just for that, I'll say that it was a worthwhile media column. We're already making everbody with something negative to say about the Vincent/Kathryn side of the show look like whining jackasses! ;-}

I hadn't released that Fred Berner had left along with Balcer.

The "high melodrama" is a problem for me too. It doesn't fit with the concept of the show. It's "Criminal Intent", not "Detective Intent." I don't like the new music and camerawork; it's too much like CSI. And they'd better bring back the Ching-Ching.

Look, they'll know there's a problem when WE stop watching. Until then, bring it on. We love Goren.
