Tuesday, 12/12, 9-9:30am Law & Order: Criminal Intent Signing Kathryn Erbe and Vincent D'Onofrio will be signing copies of the just released Law & Order: Criminal Intent season 2 DVD.
AHHH!!! This weekend I am flying from Nashville, TN to New York City on Sunday for a shopping trip and coming back on monday night...wish they were signing during that time!!! I really really hope that we (my traveling crew and I) run into a D'onofrio...any New Yorker got any ideas? I have been to NYC many times and can get around the city well. We're flying into JFK and staying in Times Square,so the Subway station is close. Help if you have any ideas?! Thanks, Amanda
Oh man! Lucky people who get to go! Why do I have to live on the other side of the country?! Sounds exciting! I'd LOVE to go! Anyway, for those who are going, have fun! =)
Let's see...if I move my Tuesday appointments to Monday, take a red-eye to NYC, I should get there around 7 am-ish. Take the train to wherever this is going on, get my autograph...mesmerize Vincent with my exotic good looks...and.... Who needs more than that?
I wish I could go. But I don't imagine too many will get autographs in the space of a half hour if I'm reading it right...9 - 9.30 AM on Tuesday ...Probably a half hour work break....I'd still like to be there with a camara......
Try visiting Chelsea Piers - Pier 62 while you're there. Go early in the morning when crew arrives. Maybe you can ask if they are filming on location that day and where. Hope you have fun!
I live in Toronto. I think if I run, I'll be able to make it to Buffalo in a couple of days, and getting from there to New York City should be a cinch, right?
It's the 7am flight out of BNA...do you fit well in most overhead compartments? :) The flight was a good price, especially for going for a about 40 hours! I think we should start a Nashvegas loves D'onofrio fan club? Shall you be the fan club pres and I'll be VP?
nantucket-nectars... Thanks, I know where Chelsea Peir is, cool! Do you think that going early on Monday anyone would be there? I was reminded today by another fan that the show was taking a December break...is that also a december filming break as well?! Sorry to ask a dumb question, but I know nothing of acting...just of watching the final product!
If anyone has a VDO detection devise that I can use over the two day period, then just let me know...I'd like to borrow it!!!
Maybe we I can visit the Rockefeller tree sunday night after a fabulous dinner at Carmine's (my favorite NYC restaurant), I will run into him. Our Law and Order "McDreamy!"
I can't believe that both Vincent and Kate will be there-that's great-but only a half hour-even with Vincent just signing VDO, that won't be many DVDs-many they mean they will arrive between 9-9:30 and then see how it goes-seems there would be too many disappointed people for them to only be there for a half hour.
swimfish- I think they do shoot up until right before Christmas. At least in the past they have. There is a guard shack in the garage entrance. You might ask there.
unfortuntely due to the time frame of buses i can't attend i would get there to late i hope that ones that are going can snap some pictures or make a video clip of the event anyway have a great time and keep warm
You never know he could be there for a couple of hours.I think vincent would love to make his fans happy but he is very busy.Whoever is going try walking around chelsea pier.good luck
so if this thing is at 9, what's a good time to get there? me and some friends are road tripping from school... but we're not sure what time to leave and how early to get there. i've never done something like this before, and it's only 30 minutes... hmmm.
thanks for the response! sadly, very sadly, we're not going now. my friend can't afford the trip, the other can't go, and i can't really go alone. :( but oh well, it would have been nice. i hope those who are going take pictures, at least.
Just back from the signing and I still can't get over how gracious they both were. Kathryn Erbe was amazingly sweet. She spoke with every person and couldn't have been nicer. Vincent was similarly friendly and at the end, he even left those who were directing his way to the exit to go and take pictures with the fans who were waiting on the side. He took photo after photo and even oblidged a few with a kiss.
I was at the signing today and I went with my mom and a friend of mine. The both of them were so sweet and amazingly gorgeous! They spoke to every fan and just as jb said Vincent even took pictures with fans that were waiting on the side-me being one of them! AND- (and anyone there will vouch for me) both Kathryn and Vincent kissed my mom!! I still can't belive it! The best experience ever and I can't wait for the next one!
Well then, that solves it...Next time (even if I just got back from NYC) I have to buy a plane ticket to go see them! Thanks all for your stories and yes, I am envious of you all. Did anyone take pictures? I'd love to see them.
Lisa- When another one comes, should we get a ticket from BNA to JFK? I think so. And I know there's that thing called work,"Cough" we'll just be sick.
I arrived at NBC Experience store at around 7PM with my husband. We stood in line with about 9 other women and talked and yes, I met another blogger from the Reel, Nicole, her mother, and her friend Nicole - all very nice people. We talked about how much we love the show, Vincent, Katherine and tried to stay calm. Many other people arrived. VDO arrived and we thought Nicole was going to faint. I fumbled with my camera, but only got the back of him. By the time I got inside, Nicole, her mom, and her friend Nicole were at the table. I heard laughing. Nicole said "He kissed my Mom!". I found I could hardly speak or move at the sight of VDO. He was wearing a black suit and a white shirt. His hair was curly, salt and pepper and combed back a little in front. He was not wearing any theatrical makeup. He is much thinner in person and I have to say the most gorgeous man I have ever seen. His brown eyes are incredibly warm and friendly. And those shoulders........it is very hard to put into words how beautiful he is, but I know you all know. Anyway, Kathryn was first at the table, but she was busy talking with someone else. Vincent was just sitting there and I was just staring at him. Then I came to my senses enough to hand him the Season 2 DVD and some pictures that were given to us with the DVD. He said" Do you want me to sign all of these?" I said " Yes, I have some friends who couldn't make it today. He signed them and put them in front of Kathryn to sign. She picked them up and I said to her "It is so nice to meet you after all these years of watching you on TV". She said " Well, it's nice to meet you too", with a big smile. BTW, she is absolutely beautiful in person...and what a smile! I'm sorry I don't remember what she was wearing. She was in full theatrical makeup. Then I reached out and shook her hand and then his hand and thanked them. Kathryn said "Thank you" and Vincent said the same and then added "Merry Christmas" I said " Oh, and the same to you!" (Was I brilliant or what??!!) We were then herded to the side and tried to take some pictures, but it was nearly impossible with the NBC employees, security, and the bodyguards. One woman called out to Vincent and asked him if he would take a picture with her friend, Sandy. He nodded and Sandy was stunned. She put her things on the floor and went over to him. He put his arm around her and the picture was taken. I think he kissed her, too. When she went to pick up her things off the floor, she went down on her knees. I thought she was fainting, but she got up. I told her friend that what she did was a very kind thing. She said she owed Sandy. Then someone, I think the bodyguard, leaned over to VDO and I imagine he told him it was time to go. He stood up, all 6'4" of him, (mama mia!) and walked over to the side where we were and said he would take some pictures with us. There was a rush towards him and the security guard stopped all but one person. I imagine she took a picture with him, but I couldn't see. My husband was urging me to move up. I looked up and saw Nicole having her picture taken with him and her friend Nicole was moving up to be next. Vincent said "I can do 2 more and then I have to go." I tried to make my move, but someone else got in front of me. I froze for a second, but decided not to give up. I was right in front of him as he took the picture with that someone else, with only the security guard between us. I looked right up at him into his warm brown eyes, raised my index finger and begged him "Just one more Vincent, please". Please keep in mind my husband was repeatedly urging me "Sue - move up!" The next thing I knew, Vincent reached around the security guard and took my hand! He pulled me around the guard, said my name "Come on, Sue" and put his arm around me for the picture. I was in a daze. My husband kept calling me to look at his camera so he could take the picture and Vincent said " Sue...look." I looked, my husband snapped the picture, AND THEN, Vincent bent down and kissed me on the cheek!!!!!!!!!!!!! He said "Merry Christmas, Sue". I became catatonic. I don't know what he did after that. He was just gone. I don't know where anyone else went either. I walked up the ramp and began repeating over and over, "He kissed me". I don't think I had any "affect" when saying this because I really think I was in shock. Sandy's friend, who had asked Vincent to take a picture with Sandy, came over to me and said " I got the picture of him kissing you. Did your husband?" My husband did not. Sandy's friend told me she would e-mail it to me if I gave her my e-mail address. I wrote it down, but I'm not sure if it was correct. I was still in a daze. I have not yet received the picture, but it only happened today. My husband said "So what do you want to do now?" I thought to myself " Am I just supposed to go on with my regular life now that I have been touched and kissed by VDO? After he said my name --- 3 times!!! After he wished me a Merry Christmas..twice!! I couldn't respond to my husband. We walked (I in a daze, he clueless) over to the ice skating area and I sat down. I realized I was trembling and began to cry...just a little. Then I called all 3 of my sisters, 2 co-workers, my 2 sons, and 4 friends to tell them the good news. The most common response was "Oh my God!!!!!" My husband said I forgot to call the Pope...very funny. We went to a few stores, but when it became apparent to my husband that I was starstruck, we took a cab back to Grand Central and came home. I keep touching my cheek and reliving the moment. I asked my husband if he could see the spot where he kissed me. He smiled wryly. I spent the rest of the afternoon watching the DVD - 1st disc. When I felt coherent, I came to you with my story. I hope you enjoyed it. I did take some pictures with the digital camera I borrowed, but they are not very good. It really was hard to photograph them with all the other people in the way. I will try to figure out how to get them on line to you. The one with Vincent and I was not taken with a digital camera. My husband uses a 35mm camera. So that one won't get posted. If Sandy's friend sends me the one with VDO kissing me, I will try to get it to you.
Thank you all for letting me share my story. December 12, 2006 is a day I will never forget!
Oh, congratulations Sue!! What a great, great visit with vincent!! I am so green with envy...
And swimfish>> we need to find a way to contact off of the reel, girl... If you are a member of the VDO Forum I am known as "caseyswife" - pm me there!!

Thank you all for your congrats! I hope my report of the day wasn't too long, but I wanted you to all share in the day with me.
It has been almost 48 hours since "the kiss" and I am still on Cloud 9. I may need the help of "victim services" since I am definately the victim of l-o-v-e -- VDO love! Do you think Bobby would give me the number?
Regina - I'm sorry, I don't remember if he was wearing cologne. And I have told my husband how many women from the Reel and NBC.com think he is so great that he took me to this event.(And that I think so too) I vaguely remember him saying to me on the train ride home that it was too bad that he had 12 more pictures on the camera before the end of the roll. Hopefully it will be ready tonight or tomorrow. I have not yet received the e-mail from the woman who has the shot of VDO kissing me. God, I hope I gave her the right e-mail address! I was so out of it!

What a great experience-
Thank you so much for sharing-
If you remember any more, please share with us less fortunate-
Boy you are special now-
I want to know if Vincent was wearing colonge-
Did you notice-
And I congratulate you for not fainting-
I would have fainted for sure or grab his arm for good with the security guards pulling me away-
What a wonderful experience-
If you get that picture with Vincent kissing you, then have it framed and matted and lock it in a vault when you can visit it once in awhile-
Again thanks and a special thank you to your hubby.
