Fans with Vincent

Submitted by eames_shrine. Thanks

This was apparently in a Google Alert on November 20. A fan, CrushedVelvet, posted her photo of herself and friends with Vincent. They looked a bit overwhelmed!

"I met Vincent D'Onofrio today! My friend Allie received a letter in the mail a few days ago telling her that they would be filming for CI in her neighborhood (we live in Staten Island.) So today we went by the house and caught Vincent right before he went on a lunch break. He was an absolute sweetheart..." Read her full post.

Man that is so cool! Vincent is not your everday actor. It's great that Vincent is willing to spend his breaks with his fans. Vincent is a very special man.

Wow, I am so excited and jealous at the same time. I can't wait to see him again in the next show...just wish they could play new shows throughout their break. The picture makes me sad that for the next two weeks he is not going to be on Tuesday nights. My 8pm hour will be very boreing.
Thanks for the pic

He looks great in the photo-those school girls look a little non-pluses-I guess there just a little star-struck-it is very sweet of him to pose with them before he takes his lunch break.

Lucky girls, but poor Vincent. He's apparently too nice to say anything, but it's got to be annoying to be pestered so often when he's trying to work (or take a break). Give him some peace and respect, girls, and admire from afar.

Thank you for sharing the picture-Vincent looks great-I believe they only send notices to people living in the neighborhoods that they are filming in to let them know that there will be many people, cameras, trucks, etc. and they probably include an apology that they won't try and block anyone's driveway or anything. I think it's just basically an alert type of notice.

vdo, I have lived in several places where they shoot films and TV series. From what I discerned, the gal's friend lives in Staten Island, she received a letter from the city or the production company informing her and her neighbors that they will be shooting on her street. Normally this is required at least 24 hours in advance of shooting. The letter is only sent to residents or businesses that are effected. When it is a city street with businesses the warning is posted on light posts. This is to warn residents and businesses that they will not have access to the area with their cars, that they should move their cars before a certain time. They write "sorry for the inconvenience... " etc.

The gal who lived on Staten Island called her VDO fan friend that she received a letter that LOCI was shooting on her street. She joined her friend at her house or whatever and watched the shooting. She was really lucky, it could have easily been a Logan/Wheeler episode.

Years ago, you could find out from the government offices in charge where there would be shooting in a given city, not from the production office. But now due to over eager fans, wanna be writers and actors, stalkers and just plain tourists who have interfered with shooting and the talent, they are not as forthcoming with that sort of information. It can become a serious crowd control issue as well. They have also had problems with people trying to give letters or scripts to people on the set --- something they try to avoid at all costs since there could be legal liability. For example, if there is a treatment (1 page synopsis idea for an episode) in what they thought was a greeting card envelope and later they do a show similar to that idea, they could try to sue the production company for plagiarism.

So, in today's scary world, only those directly effected by the shooting are told usually, as in you will not be able to park on the street between 5AM and 10PM.

Hope that helps.

BAck in the late eighties they used to make quite a few Perry mason movies in denver, I always knew when they were in our area because I had to give up my parking space to Taymond Burr's trailer but in all that time I never saw anyone from the show.
