Not going, going......

From TVGuide.com
Ausiello Report
March 6, 2007

"Despite what Vincent D'Onofrio allegedly told an Aussie publication, the actor insists he does not have one foot out the door at Law & Order: CI.

"I am not leaving Law & Order: Criminal Intent and have every intention of fulfilling my contractual obligations on the show," he said in a statement issued by his rep. "I still find playing the role of Robert Goren interesting and enjoy working with the writers, cast and crew of Criminal Intent."

Once more with feeling, buddy?

This all may be a moot point anyway, since the chances of CI seeing another season are iffy at best. Which brings me to my next question: Would anyone miss it?"

Thanks Pat and Linda

Would anyone miss it...Hell Yes!!!

I am very happy to have confirmation that Vincent is not leaving and hopefully NBC will renew CI. Of course, it would be very valuable if we all wrote Mr. Ausiello from TV Guide and let him know just how many people would miss CI. I did and it's easy to leave a comment. And I think I will do that at the NBC webiste as well.

Mr. Ausiello knows as much about television as he does about playing the french horn. Look at his top 5 favorite TV shows of all time:

1. Twin Peaks
2. Roseanne
3. Santa Barbara
4. Falcon Crest
5. Felicity

Consider the source.

About.com lists CI as having a "pretty good" chance of renewal, so I wouldn't write it off just yet.

I'm actually very suprised that I'm here AS I'm a big time Logan fan and this site isn't always the most generous on that Matter . Actually I take that back the Majority seems pretty fair ( just a few antiloganites that scare me : ).

Anyway we all want our show to be renewed right - that's the main reason I'm here. I have mentioned this on a few other sites as well. I think that we ( as fans of the show ) should all try to write to NBC as well to let TPTB know how we feel about our INCREDIBLE show.

Here are a few addresses that we can use

NBC's email addresses: law@nbc.com (L&O-specific comments), marketing@nbc.com

NBC (New York)
30 Rockefeller Plaza
New York, NY 10112

NBC (Los Angeles)
3000 W. Alameda Ave.
Burbank, CA 91523

WOLF PRODUCTIONS
100 Universal City Plaza, Bldg. 69
Universal City, CA

Not sure if these are the most effective addresses but they are the only ones that I have / If anyone has some others could they please post them.

CIIncrdedible would you mind if I put these addresses up on my blog as well? Maybe someone from mine that doesn't come here would like to help keep the show alive.

Thanks

I would say that CI has a very good chance of being renewed, considering most of NBC's new dramas this year were big ratings flops (with the exception of Heroes) and CI is outdoing them all (with the exception again of Heroes) and that both Crossing Jordan, Medium, and the Original L&O are doing far worse ratings wise than CI. Not to mention Michael Ausiello is frequently wrong about these things.

Also, the fact that there may be a strike in by the WGA writers this fall means networks are a lot less likely to invest in many new series which, if a strike were to occur, would have no reruns to air in their time slots in the event that new eps were unavailable. Networks are more likely to pick up old shows which have reruns, and can cram more writing/filming into the summer months.

Same - o- same-o!!!! When VDO, NBC, or Dick Wolf says that VDO is gone, then I will probably believe it. Too many discrepancies in that ariticle - age of Leila, number of years of LOCI, and so forth.

By all means!!

Definitely pass on those addresses to anyone who you think will use them.

Not sure how much all of us writing in will help!!

But at least we will be making our voices heard.

"Would anyone miss it?" Why must people ask stupid questions like that? Of course it would be missed. It's the best show on TV. I mean, seriously, if there was no audience for it (which would be the only reason for cancelling a show), then why is it shown on 4 different channels? Practically every time you turn on the TV there's a pretty good chance of catching Bobby G. manipulating criminal minds with a method all his own. Nothing can compare.

I called this Mr.Ausiello a nitwit on the NBC CI site yesterday. He must have never turned his televison on since all his favorite shows were canceled. Anyway, I am beginning to believe that NBC is paying more attention to the boards and to this blog. Fun how certain items have been addressed, we are seeing more of the personal story on Goren, the last episode had more of his old self in it...
Is it my imagination or is someone paying attention?

When you consider the terrible leadings CI has gotten all season and the competition it has (it's on opposite House and The Unit both shows that have great leadins by the way) it's doing great, it averages around 10 million viewers a week and it usually only has a lead in of about 6 million, so that means 4 million people turn something else off to tune into CI. When you consider that House gets the lead in from American Idol. I don't think it's such a big deal that House always wins the time slot.

I am so happy to hear Vincent is staying with the show.

And Regina, I did send in a comment to the Ausiello article. I just couldn't let that uncalled-for comment go unanswered.

Damn straight those of us who love it would miss it. As most of us have been saying, never trust an article whose source material consisted mostly of quotes taken from different interviews 2 years ago! I'd still like to punch the guy who wrote it for making me feel sick tho'. Thank you for all the NBC addresses, a one finger salute to Mr Ausiello from TV Guide (altho' thanks for the info) and here's hoping for lots more C.I. Kate and Vincent! I'll watch it as long as it's there to be watched.

As soon as I e mailed Mr. Ausiello, I did go in and e mail the NBC site as well-I think maybe they are paying more attention to fans this year with having the blog with Warren Leight after the first show-what bothers me of course is House, American Idol and now Dancing with the stars-I don't watch any of them but they are very popular-I like CI on Tuesdays now before SVU-seems like a good combo. Regi.

It is amazing that CI has had the misfortune of being pitted against two wildly popular shows...First Desperate Housewives and now House.

Yet through it all their ratings have remained solid and their fan base secure. I'm not sure there are a lot of shows that could say that.

7:52 PM
Blogger Animaltalker said...

Regina, I'de love to seem them switch it around let SVU go up against House for a while and lets see what sort of ratings CI gets when it's got SVU's plum time slot with SVU giving it a lead in

Blogger Paula said...

I wish they would alternate SVU and CI for a few weeks. Show a new CI when SVU is a repeat.

I think they'd be crazy to cancel CI. On the 27th, CI had 9.3 million US viewers (that's a third of the population canada) and SVU had 11.7 million. Not that much of a difference. The way they have arranged it, one right after the other, is working for them.

If SVU has at least 2 more years, so does CI.

HELP! I tried e-mailing that 'Law@nbc.com' address last night - I want to 'talk' to them, and I won't mention the fact they still haven't answered my season 2 enquiry from 2.5 years ago, but that was a different addres. Anyway, it came back as 'undeliverable'. Were they just busy and didn't want to take my 2 cents worth, or am I missing something in the address?? Any assistance would be appreciated. The more we sound off about our wonderful show - from all points of the globe - the better ;0)

Would anyone miss it? what a question! of course! CI AND SVU are the only programs on TV that are innovative and fun to watch. I can only think that NBC would want to keep these two shows together. Let's all write to the appropriate folks and ensure NBC knows the following for CI is large and living. I was estatic to hear that vincent was not jumping ship--he is too honorable and professional for that kind of behavior. He always indicated that he would honor his commitment--that's our vincent! We love him for his integrity--and his class!

I have had my doubts over the months...but with reading the information that has been posted, it looks like a good possibility that ci won't be cancelled. HOOOO-RAH!

As far as Mr. Ausiello goes, everyone is allowed his opinion/thoughts...but he is treading on thin ice. I think all that has been said about him, ditto! I would like to add, 'small minds have small thoughts'. Not to check out the activities on this site, and other d'onofrio websites is a BIG mistake! VDO has a large following...and to ask the question (even rhetorical) 'would anyone miss it?' is just plain 'moronic'.
