Carin Van Der Donk and husband!

Vincent and Carin

Business Council for Peace's Second Annual Gala and Auction was held on May 9th, 2007 at the Ritz-Carlton in Battery Park. The money raised at the Gala will be used to finance Bpeace's Economic Development Programs. Among those in attendance were Carin van der Donk and husband Vincent D'Onofrio. Event organizers took the opportunity to recognize Carin's social entrepreneurial work from the podium.

You're welcome - happy to share the info. Not only is it a worthwhile cause, it must have been nice to attend an event where Vincent could "take a back seat" and not be the big star. And aren't the pics great?

Aww... what a good hubby he is, supporting Carin and getting involved in such an important and meaningful issue. Yet more proof that he is the perfect man *sigh*

They are so cute together - and I am green with envy!! :D

They look HAPPY and that is a blessing.

Good for them that have stayed together. I dislike Hollywood Couples who blow off their marriage so quickly and treat it likes it nothing.

bunnie, from what I've been told from "sources" they were legally separated for about 18 months to 2 years, and never finalized the divorce. Having been legally separated myself in NY (but not divorced) you need to refile after the separation in order to process the divorce, it's not an automatic thing. So people can and do postpone. I suspect that's what happened here. (As for saying "ex" and "divorced" my hubby and I did it too, though we weren't yet. And thankfully, we're still trucking!)

I'm just glad VDO and Carin look so happy, and it's great that Elias has his parents together again.

I'm photoshopping my head onto Carin's body.

I'm a straight guy.

Seriously though, Vincent looks like a guy you could just hang out with. He seems so personable, and he's helping out with a worthy cause. Kudos to the man.

I'm happy that Vincent is happy. Carin seems to be a lovely & kind person. I wish them continued happiness in their marriage.

Who is that lady? And what a hat! Is that the latest fashion in Tribeca?

I've done a bit of online browsing at Carin's store's and it carries the most wonderful items, I've always known she had a real sense of doing what was right and helping others (you get that when you look at the merchandise she chooses to stock) butnow I see she's even more involved..
And on a completely shallow level didn't she used to be a brunette? Well anyway I think she looks gorgeous

Thank you for this great article and pics. I looked further into Carin's involvement with Bpeace and what I found is a gem of a woman with great values, and insightful perspective on the needs of women & children. What she has done through her entrepreneurial work is helping countless women become effective business women/providers for their families as well as provide quality products for children/mothers here and abroad. I have great respect for Carin and am thrilled Vincent found such a quality life partner. Blessings on them both.

Thank You, rowe1!! Hugs and kisses to you.

What I especially like about Carin is that she looks like a 'natural, healthy" woman! I so admite that.

Its so good to see her involved with this organisation and him supporting her.The womans voice had an important influence on the peace process in Northern ireland so lets hope it get enabled in Afghanistan too, because the situation there is dreadful apparently.

If you can judge people by their faces, I would say Carin is a free-spirited hippie chick.

BTW, does anyone know how Carin is pronounced...Caren, CARin, Careen, CarIN?

Blogger Animaltalker said...

Actually Roberta it might be a case for glasses or well a host of other things.

Solange--
I think that people in the US probably pronounce it as "Karen" but in the Netherlands it might be pronounced with a softer "a" like "KAH-rin." Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, she's very natural--lovely and wholesome I think, not very fussy. I hope people aren't picking on her on other boards--we know how that goes. I think it's nice that she's created her own identity apart from Vincent so she's not just known as "Vincent D'Onofrio's wife" (or significant other--whatever her standing is.)

Thanks, Beth. If people are picking on her, that says more about them than it does about her. She looks like a beautiful person.

They're a very nice couple.
But I have one question: Is she Dutch? Because her name sounds Dutch. (well... I can say that, because I'm from the Netherlands)

2:11 PM
Blogger thereel said...

Esmee - Yes, Carin is Dutch.

Wow. That's very special. I never knew she is! But do you know where they 've met each other? Great idea to know that he's in love with a Dutch woman. Maybe I still have a chance to meet him! It gives a little bit of hope, you know... :)
I still think it's a wonderful couple. And I want to meet him so badly... (and I think I'm not the only one!) But it's very hard! You know: singers travel all around the world and you can visit their concerts, but actors don't. They just stay in the USA and maybe they go on holiday. Could someone warn me when he's in the Netherlands or when he's close? (I don't know: Germany or Belgium or something...) Than I'll be there too! ;)
(I'm sorry for my bad English)
