Zealous Bunch? Would that be us?
From the Detroit Times
by Jim McFarlin, 6.6.07
"In the land of Must-Not-See-TV, NBC, which last week fired entertainment chief Kevin Reilly for humiliating fourth-place ratings (and months after giving him a new three-year contract), relented to pressure from its top-dog producer Dick Wolf and will bring back all three versions of Law & Order next fall, including the flagship original for a historic 18th season. However, not all three will be on the network: L&O: Criminal Intent is being shifted to NBC Universal-owned USA Networks for its first-run episodes (also historic), with reruns eventually landing on NBC.
I've never received more reader response here than when I hailed Criminal Intent's Vincent D'Onofrio as one of prime-time's most fascinating actors. Wonder how this move will play with that zealous bunch?" More.
Note: This is the previous mention he refers to --
Vincent D'Onofrio: How this guy isn't nominated for an Emmy every year astonishes me. He may be the hardest-working man in show business: Producers had to bring back Chris Noth as Det. Mike Logan to split episodes with D'Onofrio, since so much of Law & Order: Criminal Intent has revolved around him. But his Det. Bobby Goren may be the most complex and fascinating character on network TV.
Thanks Judy!!

Here's the story, of a man name Vincent, who had attracted very many girls...
Here's to being part of the zealous bunch!
Ha-ha, Marion - that is so funny!
I second that 'here' and raise a toast to The Man who inspires our zealousness!
I am glad we all realize our strengths!
I totally agree...why doesn't he have an emmy? In short, Hollywood is on crack!
Big CHEESY SMILES TO YOU ALL!
Zealous Bunch. Ha ha ha. I love it!!!
But how zealous are we?? Does it count if we own more than twelve of his movies and have every single episode of CI?? Or how about when we spend over $30 on one of his movies??
If thats what it means, then I am most definitely ZEALOUS!!
Let's face it , he wonders how it will play for us that he's on cable first rather than the network, and I think I speak for us all when I say - BUT HE'S BACK, THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS!
Hey guys what does it say if you own 53 of his movies and all loci episodes.
Just when i thought i was about finished collecting he is doing two or three more this year. The Narrows and Staten Island. I heard a rumor there was a third but I can't find it. The four I have left to collect I have found but can't get my hands on right now but woohoo when I do. Does this count as zealous.
Yay Law and Order the Original. It would ahve been sort of weird and sad if the spin-offs outlived the mother ship.
Count me among the zealous bunch. I too have the first 3 seasons on dvd and have recorded every one of the last 3 that I can. I'm thinking that I'll have to purchase another set of the first 3 because I'm wearing out what I have. I was on a plane with my 6 year old nephew last week and when I asked him to 'let's just sit and think', he said he didn't have anything to think about. No one knows how much I think of Vincent.
I heard an interview after endgame that when asked what he wanted them to do with goren this season, he said he wanted goren destroyed. I took that to mean he wouldn't come back. please tell me I'm wrong.
Tex? What interview was that? Yipes!
Yes I am proud to be a member of the zealous bunch-perhaps another good sign is when you can recite the Vincent's lines from his movies and CI better than he remembers them-great to have Vincent back as Goren on any channel and I will happily accept whichever way he wants to take Goren-
Regi.
Well, this member of the 'Zealous Bunch' is delighted ;0)
Oh and to my knowledge, and like a lot of us, I get Google alerts on VDO and CI most days, Vincent has said NOTHING about what happens next on C.I. He's making movies don't forget. The only remark about a possible direction for Season 7 came from Warren Leight, saying where does Goren go from here? I think brand new blogger Texanfan had a nightmare and just wanted to 'share'. In other words, 'chill' fellow Zealots, I'm sure Vincent will be kind to us ;0)
diane and marion the geek, following is where I saw/heard vincent talk about the destruction of goren. I've been around here a lot.

Scroll down to Endgame – Interview with Vincent D’Onofrio
He is a hunk.
texanfan, where did you hear this interview?
All I can say is VERY VERY COOL.
It nice to be recognized.
Thank you for the link - this is an extended version of the tiny clip I saw over at NBC. Season 6 may, as Vincent says, have been the destruction of our formerly invincible Bobby Goren BUT nowhere does Vincent say he won't be back for S7....or are we implying that 'there will be no major cast changes' (quote from Warren Leight) doesn't mean Vincent?! I still say we have nothing to worry about, he WILL be there, but hey, what do I know ;0)
zealous... hmmm
dedicated
devoted
committed
ardent
adoring
caring
devout
constant
steadfast
staunch
true
take your pick
they all fit
Diane, I wish I shared your optimism...
loci may be safe, but nowhere have I seen it said Vincent is returning...
I await with baited breath
...and no where have we seen it said Vincent WON'T be returning. See, it's easy to be an optimist ;0)
