Screen star promotes family rib franchise

Vincent D'Onofrio, star of NBC's "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and movies such as "Men in Black," is part owner with his sister and brother-in-law of a Rib City franchise in Sandy, Utah.

SANDY - There is precious little celebrity stardust sprinkled around Utah's eateries.
Robert Redford and his Zoom and Sundance restaurants come to mind. And former Jazz player Mark Eaton's Tuscany and Franck's.
Now, diners can think of Detective Robert Goren, the lead character in the TV series "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" or the hilarious villain, Edgar, in "Men in Black," when they munch on slow-cooked barbecued meats at Rib City. The restaurant opens on Saturday, and then seven days a week, initially from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Actor Vincent D'Onofrio has teamed with his sister and brother-in-law, Toni and Ron Jorgensen, to open this Southern, speciality barbecue restaurant at 2071 E. 9400 South, Sandy.
This is D'Onofrio's first Rib City franchise and the Jorgensens' second. The other opened last year in American Fork, and there are plans for franchises in Park City, Saratoga Springs and St. George. More.

Thanks Mel, Judy, and Patti

How generous of Vincent to help his sister Toni open up another franchise.

He looks happy, what a great smile.

Yet another reason why I can't wait until October 4th.

See, every time I think I can't possibly love him more than I do, Mr D'Onofrio proves me wrong ;0)
Thank you SO much for the wonderful picture and article. I wish all those who have been taking pops at how he looks since the new pictures appeared a speedy journey to some other show/actor.

I wish I lived in Utah--the restaurant sounds really good! Good luck to Toni & company. (This is the first time I've heard any mention of his other sister.)

Thanks so much for posting the article-
Vincent looks great and mainly because of that great big gorgeous smile-
That's the way I love to see him-
OK any fans in Utah or Florida so we can get some comments on the restaurants-
Also nice of Vincent to keep business in the family-
And just love reading his tribute to Gregory Hines-
And yes, Vincent, your anonymity is gone so please release Five Minutes, Mr. Welles on DVD-
I will be begging for this forever-

Nice article...great picture! The lack of facial hair makes me think Bobby might be "coming clean" in later episodes (sorry, couldn't resist).

Did anybody read that nasty comment posted by "NoAbsolution?" All kinds of people in this world...and there's no way the tripe that flows from this petty person's keyboard fits with anything else I've ever seen written about Vincent. Garbage. Pure, fictitious, malicious garbage. Where is the semi-professional hitman when you need him?

you know...kansas city is very famous for their barbeque. do you know how much profit vincent would make by opening up a barbeque restaurant here? being a native of kansas city, let me just say, he would do very well... so i'm thinkin he could open one up here...fly over here...stay at my hotel...

Karen--Just saw the comments. Where the heck did this person come from? Whoever it was, it was a tad bit on the cuckoo side...

Anyways, ignoring that one bit, the rest of the article (especially the pic) was nice to see. It's his sis, he's helping her out but it doesn't seem like she's mooching, and people get to eat some ribs. Fun and good times is had by all. :-)

Its funny. I never recognise him when he is himself!

I do applaud his loyalty to friends and family, his ability to keep close to the small life in a big business. Thats rare in show business and suggests he has his priorities well placed and his feet on the ground.

Thanks to Libby-Lee of the IMDB, for posting the article first there. I think it is great of Vincent to help his Sisters business, he is very close to his family, it is just like him to help out. Yes it is a nice photo, I suspect the stubble is still there, the look in the Ci promos were just for the character.

VDO looks great in that pic!! I'm very glad he is now clean shavin i don't like the beard look. Referring to karen's post i did read the comment NoAbsolution posted on the article site. I couldn't believe what i was reading. Never in all my life have i read something as ridiculous as that. I can't wait til Oct. 4th!!!

Sadly, I recently read a similar rant from this malicious poster on another site. She's obviously setting up an extortion demand, thinking Vincent would pay to stop these lies from hurting & embarrassing his family

Please Vincent, get a publicist & an attorney STAT.

I didn't figure out that you guys meant that NoAbsolution posted those comments on the actual ARTICLE... I kept looking around here trying to find them.. by the time I figured it out, they had been deleted. Can anyone recap what was said?

Ew--I just read that comment. I think that person may be the same one who posted at another nice VDO blog and the moderator clued us in. Yeah, a sicko, but whatever .. . Looks like they took one of her comments down.

He does look very happy doesn't he and relaxed.

I'm a vegetarian, but I'd nibble on Vincent's ribs any day...

I did a special Troll post on my blog for No Absloution, which kept her occupied and away from others for a while. Everyone absolutely shredded her, but she doesn't seem to get it. Poor sad lunatic.

First of all, stubble or no stubble, Vincent looks great and if he wants stubble for CI, I'm sure it grows back very quickly-
I couldn't understand this nasty post everyone was commenting on and then I saw it was with the newspaper article-
I think Vincent is a great actor and a nice guy-
His relationship with his wife Carin is their business and that includes all of their business-
So if someone thinks we are going to change our opinion about Vincent based on their rantings, they are wrong-
So if you are going to publish some article before the premiere of CI, go ahead-
We are loyal Vincent fans and will continue to be-
Regi.

I see the Salt Lake Tribune has given no absolution to NoAbsolution, and that garbage has now been deleted. Thank you!

Hello Val! And company! Yeah, poor "NoAbsolution," or "NoAbs," as I like to call the "gutless" troll, is back. She also calls herself "Starry Night." More like "Scary Blight." A total psycho. And Val, even though you're a vegetarian, can't you still "sample the sauce?" LOL

I actually didn't see what "noabsolution" said at The Sun[UK] newspaper[sorry to sound like a snob, but that rag is, trash for trailer trash]. Val how do you know it was the same person at your blog?

If Vincent wants to put a stake in his Sisters business [no pun intended] that is his prerogative [is that how you spell it?]

He looks happy, handsome, gorgeous and rested; and yes they should mind there own business about him and Carin too.

This is one of the reasons i just love him. hes helping out his sister, who btw i dont think ive ever heard anything about. i love seeing him natural like this, not for like a TV interview. i love that he doesnt have a publicist. hes a celebrity but hates being in the public eye. also that he rarely does interviews and goes to his own premires cuz it takes time away he could spend with his family...although i wish he did do some tv interviews so we could see him some more!! :) i love when he wears suits without ties!! just something about that look...

I am such a big Vincent d'Onofrio fan having watched Law & Order - CI so often that I know the lines by heart. Then I read in the Salt Lake Tribune (my hometown newspaper) that he is part owner of a restaurant with his sister in Sandy, Utah. It is 20 minutes from where I live in Utah and about three blocks from where I work in Sandy!!! Guess I will have a new favorite restaurant now!!!

Hi folks I am new to this V d'O obsession but I have to agree with the idea of chomping on ribs, preferably with LOTS and LOTS of of sauce, and perhaps some corn-on-the-cob too.

What I really love about that picture is the smile - it looks sort of shy and cheeky at the same time!

It's strange: I think a lot of actors don't have publicists. I used to be a fan of The Dead Zone and I know that Anthony Michael Hall didn't have one, either!

Thank-you i hope that you are successful.
