The USA Interview

"Vincent D'Onofrio tells all"
Had a good talk with Vincent D'Onofrio this afternoon. He was great about answering questions you all posted on the blog. He says he's open to more seasons of Law & Order: Criminal Intent - "I have no plans to go anywhere else" — and he's psyched (my word) that the show has moved to USA Network because it's getting the kind of promotional support it deserves; he says everyone on the show is feeling the love.
More.

Thanks Peachy

I hope Lorrie posts more of the actual interview. I posted a comment to her asking about that. The one paragraph is a let down, frankly. Maybe she has some editing to do though.

Thank you for the post!

I am so excited about the season and D'onofrio's thoughts, this could be a the best season yet. however, still love last years Goren/Eames eppy's! My school has gone to an alternative schedule this year, so our first 9 weeks break is the same week as the premier! I am not going to do anything October 4 but rest trying to prepare myself for the show that night! Maybe the show will give me some investigative ideas for me to share with my 5th graders for their studies! HE!

To quote Lorrie Lynch "Had a good talk with Vincent D'Onofrio this afternoon"..I get more information about their job from the cashier at the supermarket in 2 minutes than Ms. Lynch got from Mr. D'Onofrio. This little fluffy interview was a complete insult to his fans who are much more informed as to the man's career than she obviously ever will be. I am not a journalist but surely this effort can hardly be called a best effort.

So happy to hear that he is open to staying on CI. Hope he answers one of my blog questions, as that will be the closest I'll probably ever get to communicating with him.

Wonder when the actual interview will be posted?

Well... that was... anticlimactic. I am willing to be patient and I look forward to the curves they'll throw this season. but this article... sheesh. I wanted more.

I wonder if the entire article won't be in the newspaper in one of those entertainment sections

Have to say, it's not quite what I was expecting (glossy magazine type, double page - colour!- photos, several pages of interview etc.) BUT it's Vincent, talking yesterday, which is more than we've had for a while. Maybe she will post more of his answers to some of the questions left for him, but for now, I'm thrilled he's repeated he has NO plans to leave C.I. and that they can 'feel the love'. I hope he means from USA AND us ;0)

I see Lorrie Lynch has posted a follow-up in the comments section:

"Thanks for the feedback all. Sorry to disappoint. I'll run a short piece on D'Onofrio in my magazine column around the time L0CI comes back on the air, Oct. 4. I'll consider running more here too. The conversation was about 20 minutes - enough to get into the show, the movies he made last summer, what else he'd like to do, the family a little. Certainly not an in-depth interview."

I also requested politely that Lorrie add more of her conversation with Vincent to her blog in addition to writing something in her USA Today news column.

There was a bit of a disturbance in the comments section, one poster called some VDO fans overzealous among other things, which resulted in another poster lashing back. It looks like the editors' removed the one post & edited the other.

The set up of Lorrie's page is of very short, vague info blurbs, so its no surprise that her paragraph about VDO was such. Hopefully she will take kindness on us & elaborate.

I am glad that Vincent is open to more season of LOCI, and also wish to see more of the interview. USA is doing a great job promoting the show, I have seen more previews in one day on usa then in months on nbc. Cant wait to see his new 2 movies.

Haaay!!!
give the guy a break!!!
Vincent is a man who wakes up in the morning and shows up to do his job just like the rest of us.
his just happens to be in Entertainment. are you on pins and needles when you hear from your doctor, or lawyer or school teacher? do you chase down firemen, policemen or politicians?
some people thrive on being on the front page, being in the spot light and the center of attention.. and then there are others who appreciate the love from fans but want to live their lives peacefully...privately.
Vince is one of those people.
how many times have you had to do something because of your job that you really didnt want to do?
he has every right to give of himself what he chooses. he shows his appreciation to us by going to work every day and giving us his best.
put yourself in his place.
we shouldnt expect so much from him just because he's in television.
it would be like me having every one of my customers ask me to fix them a special dish just because im a chef instead of appreciating what i took the time to create on my own.

Dear Vincent-
Boy it is tough being your fan-
Hardly much of an interview, but we're still here and loyal as always-

chef deanna- very well said. I was a little taken aback when I read the negative comments. The little paragraph is better than months of almost no news at all.

Chef Deanna,

Agreed that Vincent owes the public nothing except his professional performances.

However, if he did spend time talking with Lorrie, why not share more of that information since she already has it?

i guess i'm one that sounded negative but I didn't mean it towards vince. i just can't understand why lorrie wanted questions if we weren't going to get answers. That was my let down. i'm still a faithful l&oci/vince fan and always will be.

agree with texasfan. I'm still a fan, but why bother interviewing someone if you're not going to publish it? Well, she did say she will print more of the interview.

OMG ! Vincent is acutally open to staying with LOCI! I'm shocked and ecstatic at this prospect. I always thought it would be over after this season, but now, well "hope springs eternal".
I, too, have been "feeling the love" from USA to LOCI via the great promotional ads. Love the way Vincent/Robert comes back to reexamine the USA logo at the end - how cute!

My sentiments exactly texasfan. I have issues with Ms.Lynch's openers to her article, "Vincent D'Onofrio tells all" and "Had a good talk with Vincent D'Onofrio".
I hope Ms. Lynch has plans to further Mr. D'Onofrio's comments in a more in depth article at a later date as she informs us, otherwise what a waste of twenty minutes of the actor's valuable time.
Her two to three liner article certainly didn't do him justice.

I'd just like to add that I certainly didn't have any issues with Vincent in all this!! He gave 20 minutes. I assume he said more than 3 sentences.
Calling something 'Vincent D'Onofrio tells all' and then asking for questions to be submitted was bound to set a certain expectation I think. Seeing such a tiny paragraph as the outcome was, I admit, a huge disappointment. HOWEVER, I'm still grateful for what we got, and hope to get some more (please!)at some point.
