'Adopted by a rich family'

NEW YORK -- When the cast and crew of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" found out last spring that their show was being moved from NBC over to its sister cable network USA, the initial reaction was relief that the drama hadn't been canceled -- followed quickly by wariness about the change.

But these days, the team behind the third installment in the "Law & Order" franchise talk about their new home with an optimism long missing from the set of the crime procedural, now entering its seventh season.

" 'Reinvigorated' is a good word," said Warren Leight, the executive producer and show-runner. "Last year was awkward because NBC was going through a lot of changes, and we were not a priority, it's fair to say."

The move to USA, he said, is "like getting adopted by a really rich family."

Is it me, or does that photo look odd? Doesn't really look like its Vincent & Kate, more like stand ins.

Never mind the picture, but I love the article. I am very excited about our show has been moved. Again (like you have heard), why are NBC still falling head over hills for SVU? LOCI is the best.
I think that USA will help make it fabulous. Now...to start telling all of my friends and relatives to cancel their evening plans this thursday?!
Lets think about this for a second...

Predators game Thursday night or LOCI...I mean that is an easy choice.

Yippee for the show!

Thanks for the great article. But it is a very weird pic. Although, better we have tons of publicity with a few bad pix than the almost non-existent publicity we had with NBC.
And, what's with that tie?

Interesting that Vincent commented on how interesting his work is now. Character driven shows can be excellent, if they are done well, but if it moves toward "high drama" it can be a disaster. I still like the traditional L&O format--watch the show and it's over, nothing to think about the rest of the week. But we'll see how Warren handles this--I'm open to watching a character driven LOCI if it is well-scripted.

Thankyou for the link.
Its lovely to hear them all so fully supportive of each other and clearly enjoying their work.
Change is an essential thing, especially given all the industry changes around them.I look forward to that.

Thanks for the link, I couldn't register as it needed a US zipcode. Everyone sounds really happy, and frankly, it we all move over with it as seems likely, it will smash Monk's ratings in no time.

I couldn't register either (Val and I live on the same island in the Atlantic so we don't have a US Zip codes), so thank you so much for the link!
'Benign neglect' last year by NBC? I'd call it 'Criminal (Intent) Neglect'
