Thursday nights on TV are as competitive as it gets, so the last thing the broadcast networks need is a strong cable show grabbing viewers on the night.
They may well now have that in “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” on USA, which began airing original episodes of the longstanding crime series in the hotly contested 10 p.m. Thursday timeslot on Oct. 4, after years on NBC.
Just three weeks in, “Criminal Intent” looks to be cutting into audiences for broadcast shows like ABC’s “Big Shots,” CBS’s “Without a Trace” and NBC’s “ER.”

In the great word's of Nelson Muntz:
"HA-ha!" to the other networks and those who didn't believe CI had a breath left in them.
Ooooh, we're just gettin started!
*smirking*
"Last week, “Criminal Intent” was up 33 percent in total viewers over the prior week, and up 40 percent among 25-54s and 31 percent among 18-49s."
So I'm taking it that more viewers tune in to when its goren/Eames.
Whatever it is, I'm just happy our show is getting all the attention that its been owed for almost 7 seasons now. Its like a breath of fresh air!
I'm already thinking ahead and am hoping that there will be a season 8,9,10 and more!!!
I'm looking forward to seeing next weeks show tonight after tonights episode!!
I am way too happy right now.
Schadenfreude all the way, baby!
I knew it would kick butt. I just knew it. Awesome news and even though I do favor G/E I still love Mike. Poor guy three partners in three years.
Fantastic news.It just gets better and better. they deserve to enjoy this moment.
Yessssssssss-
Way to go CI cast and crew, the fabulous USA network and all the loyal fans-
Regi.
Read it and weep NBC *chuckles smugly* - and NO, you can't have it back!
Oh Diane they shall have it back, remember they plan to rerun it in primetime at some point this season. I'm sure when they've got nothing new to show they'll trot out CI reruns which will be new to Americans who don't watch cable
USA must be so glad they stepped in and took it on - they are reaping their reward.
I luv it!!I luv it!! i luv it!!
I can't help but laugh... and smirk... and gloat... Take that, nuts!
Doing well is indeed the best revenge...the only things on cable beating CI are football/baseball games the odd kid show on Disney and (oddly) WWE wrestling. And i have a feeling that WWE should be looking over its shoulder and worrying a bit about CI

I have been enjoying the new season so far and am glad to see so many others are tuning in!
Way to go, cast and crew of CI. You guys certainly deserve it!
Ha! Take that NBC! Just goes to show you what proper promotion will do for you. Good job, USA!
I keep thinking of that scene in "Pretty Woman" where Julia Roberts returns to the store where the clerk wouldn't help her.
"Big Mistake" NBC!!!
LOL
Sharon, you are too cute. That *is* it in a nutshell.
Dear Sharon-
That is one of the best comments I have ever seen-priceless-
