Strike Updates
From VDO Vault - thank you!
I have done all kinds of updating to the CI strike related thread at: Fans For WGA
You will find all kinds of video links, photos and stories there. Feel free to repost any or all of them...and anyone can repost anything I've put there.
Things CI fans can do to support the strike:
Make a phone call to Jeff Zucker at NBC (his direct line in NYC: 1-212-664-4444) at least once this week Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm Eastern expressing your support of CI and your displeasure at the networks and studios not negotiating in good faith with the writers (USA Network is under NBC so that's why we're calling Jeff...however you can also call the president of USA Network Bonnie Hammer at the same number, praise them for how well USA promotes CI and treats its fans, but ask her nicely to exert pressure on Jeff Zucker to get the strike settled quickly and fairly) . A sample script you can follow for Zucker is here.
Check in here and write or email advertisers letters per their campaign.
Go to pencils3mediamoguls.com and buy a box (or more) of 12 pencils to be sent to Jeff Zucker...you can specify that the pencils are in support of either Criminal Intent or a particular writer or showrunner (Rene Balcer or Warren Leight or whomever your favorite writer might be).
A good article to read to catch up on general strike related history - Here.
Any questions on the strike can be emailed to vdovault.

I just want it settled......
We all do diane...believe me we all do.
But sometimes you've got to take a stand on things and fight for what you deserve.
I love the actors on CI and for the most part I still like the show's writing (even though it's different than what it was under Rene Balcer). But I can't abide the fact that the vast majority of writers (and the actors and directors and unions) are underpaid on DVDs and Internet downloads and are not paid *at all* on streaming media (including all those neat things at USA's website that I'm no longer watching). I can't just enjoy my favorite shows and movies like I used to knowing that their creators aren't being treated reasonably and fairly.
Vincent's finally at a stage in his career where he's okay for money (and he's worked hard for the past 25 years to get there and been blessed with both talent and luck) but you have to think of all of the not famous or not in front of the camera people who bring us CI who are middle class or worse practically living paycheck to paycheck.
As a fan it kills me to see the name of even one member of the Criminal Intent team (or for that matter anyone who did production work on any movie or TV appearance) on a blog or in a news article worried about how they're going to make it in the future. And as shooting winds down on the last episode, those names of people being mentioned as being hurt by the strike are only going to grow.
And all of this is happening right before Christmas, Chanukah and Kwanzaa...a time of year that is supposed to be joyful and relatively free from want.
So I'm fighting for any person who ever made anything with Vincent...the products of their collective labor I have taken into my home and come to cherish as if they were my family or my friends.
And I always stand up to those who would do harm to my friends and family. Always.
So I am doing all I can to call out the networks and the movie studios on the damage they're doing to all of the people in the entertainment industry. It's not something I ever anticipated doing but it's something I simply must do. And the harder I fight now, hopefully the more damage I can spare others.
So that's why I took on this job. Hopefully a lot of my fellow fans of CI and Vincent will step up a little bit, do some simple things like calling the networks, writing the advertisers, and boycott internet streams and downloads and buying new DVDs. If we all work together doing just a few little things we can put this strike to an end sooner than later.
