Many series on the bubble for fall
By James Hibberd
-excerpted-
-- "Law & Order." The longest-running primetime drama on television will come back for a 19th season, sources say, with new co-star Anthony Anderson. USA Network's "L&O: Criminal Intent," which is repurposed on NBC, looks likely to return.

OK....Now I'm annoyed. It's 'likely' to return, but it's on the bubble? Please... *Screams in frustration*.
I find it very difficult to believe that USA would pour all of it's resources into CI then cancel it? It's been a huge success for them. Nope, I'm not buying it.
"On the bubble" isn't such a great category to be in, but given USA's previous reports on their happiness with the show, I think LOCI will more than likely be renewed. There was a comment in the comments section of the article, recommending renewal of L&O and LOCI, but of course, the commenter had to bring up Goren's weight, suggesting he drop a few pounds. I really wish people would lay off the "weight" thing.
sigh..i love tv so much, why does it not show the love back?
on the bubble...yeesh...
2 versions of the same article, one giving hope, the other trying to dash it! 'Likely to return' is like saying 'having a baby because she's almost pregnant'
LOCI was - and will be again - a HUGE ratings winner for USA. They have lavished care and attention on it, so why would they not renew a winner?. If it's 'Likely to renew' why is it on the bubble? Or is this NBC-Silly-Season...again?
*goes off to bang head against wall*
I'm so sick of the weight nazis taking cheap shots at Vincent. If he's happy, what's the damn problem?!
Guys... calm down. This means it's on the bubble to re-air on NBC next year. It doesn't say anything about what will actually happen on USA. It is far more likely it will be renewed for USA>
Have any of you read the Arts section of The NY Times today. I didn't have time to read much of it during the day but grabbed the Arts section to read on the train ride home.
The headlines were about the SNL skit where Vincent appeared at the end. The article was continued on page 8 and I almost didn’t turn to it. But oh happy day, I’m so glad I did. There to my amazement was a picture of our hero during a rehearsal. The article never named him but there was no mistaking it.
I’m optimistic about a season 8
I don’t understand why season 4 isn’t out on DVD yet.
Trcyk63 said, I haven't heard that USA was planning to cancel law and OrderCI, because they are the ones that would have to cancel it not NBC. So unless i hear it straight from The USA network it is just hersey. Tracey
Hey everyone!I read the whole article (checked for a few other shows I like as well) and noted this:
Dexter is "on the bubble" for network t.v. as well. However,it is a Showtime series and so popular they are making a video game for it.
So,while NBC may ditch C.I.again (not real impressed with NBC,flip-flopping like this),USA will keep it,since now it is on a cable network.
That's my take anyway.
My take is that it's on the bubble for NBC but not for USA-so NBC will probably use the new episodes from USA just like they did this year, if they need to-but since the rest of Season 7 isn't going to be on USA until June, who knows when Season 8 will be broadcast-
In addition, with the possibility of an actors' strike, hoping not, who's knows when Season 8 will be on, so let's be patient and at least look forward to the rest of Season 7 starting in June-

Trcyk63 said, so if NBC does ditch Law and OrderCI, that means that there will be no more new episodes on USA or a season8 either, right? Tracey
No, it just means that Criminal Intent won't be seen on NBC...
If USA produces new episodes of CI, NBC will run them.
CI might be on the bubble with NBC because USA hasn't confirmed that it will produce a season 8. Yet, its too early for USA to talk about it, because its still producing season 7 episodes.
Confusing.
...and Vincent said, and I quote: 'It's not like the show is ending anytime soon'. That's good enough for me to think there are no plans for it to cease to exist.
