Nashville Film Festival Panel description:

"Actor Turned Filmmaker" panel
This informative panel will investigate the bridge from becoming a working actor to a film director. You will hear firsthand experience from this accomplished panel of actors of the trials and tribulations that come along with bridging that gap and how much more difficult the transition is than one would think. It will also cover how helpful the experience of being an actor is to becoming a director. Each has insightful and colorful stories to tell of their first experiences behind the camera and how useful their experience in front of the camera has been in gaining experience to direct.

You will hear from actor Vincent D'Onofrio, star of Law and Order: Criminal Intent and who has appeared in such films as Full Metal Jacket, JFK and Ed Wood. He directed the short Five Minutes, Mr. Welles and the upcoming Mac Dog Williams, with Ethan Hawke in the lead role, and Elvis and Me, Mimi, to be shot in Nashville and Memphis. With Vincent are Joey Lauren Adams, best known for her role in Chasing Amy, who directed the 2006 Sundance hit Come Early Morning; Kimberly Williams Paisley, cast member of the television series According to Jim and starring in Eden Court at this year's NaFF and also a director of two short films; and veteran actor Robbie Benson (Ode to Billy Joe, The Chosen), who has also directed numerous television shows and is currently directing Billy Graham, The Early Years, now shooting in Tennessee.
