Episode Recap: "Betrayal"
From TVGuide.com, 6.23.08
Tonight’s episode was focused on Captain Ross when an old friend’s (and former flame) younger husband goes missing. Goren and Eames are still not speaking as they are put on this case which shows nothing has been resolved with that or the rat.
The young husband of Kathy a crime writer and ex-cop goes missing, and is suspected to have been the victim of a carjacking. We see that Woody was not alone and was running away with a girl his age named Avery – who also happened to be married and to an older man named Roy.
This whole episode I found kind of lacking, and in the end predictable. For a minute there in the middle I thought it was Roy that had something to do with it, but then when Kathy was wiring the money to Mexico- I knew something was up. So Kathy had murdered her second husband and now Woody because they had cheated on her and all these years has been using the Captain as her ally in the police department. In the end you did feel for the Captain- especially when Goren called out to him. “Not a word.” Full article

I felt the same way. There was no continuity to the whole episode. I found it lacking in substance. I also get the drift about the money being wired and then knew she was the problem. I think the writer on this one must have been asleep when he wrote it.
well,
we enjoyed it, but i do miss that edge of your seat feeling,
when goren gets that look as the music eases in and you can see the wheels turning as he realizes somethings not right....
but i have to say i like how cool he's become. he is so laid back, he doesnt rip into people like he used to, i mean i did like that about the earlier eppies but he is more mature and subtle now, so "matter of fact" when he's nailing the perps to the wall, verbally.
he still either sends them off screaming or makes them cry.lol
there were 8 of us that got together after work. we started off with the bravo eppies and then switched to usa. we had dinner and wine at 6, then popcorn at nine for the new show, and we'll do it again every other sunday. so what if they show on 2 stations at the same time..it works for us.

Trcyk63, said i did not care for this episode at all it jumped around to much. I want to see more Drama into their personal lives and more action, i haven't seen it yet except for purgatory that is the only one that i really liked so far of G&E's episodes. I waited 6 long months for it to return i hope they have other episodes that will spark my interest. Tracey
I agree this wasn't one of the best— not the creative, convoluted story that keeps us riveted. And come on now, another ex-cop gone bad?
I see Goren is giving Eames a chance to do more than carry his water (bullwinkle scene). But I do miss the tension in the interrogation room when "the music eases", everyone gets that puzzled "where is he going with this?" look and then Goren delivers his crushing blow.
Anyway, I always enjoy watching Vincent's performance and did use the commercial breaks to flip to my hero in "Stress Position" on Bravo.
I enjoyed Betrayed-
Nice to have Ross as the main character, yet have Eames kicking butt and Goren being so polite and complimentary-I was pretty much waiting for him to say, Yes, Dear, to Eames-
Also some nice lighthearted moments like the handling of the sex tape-
Love Goren but nice to have him taking a little bit of a secondary role at times-
Regi.
I still haven't forgiven Eames ;0)
