This is great! Brilliantly written and brilliantly acted.
Vincent did a good job with Orson's voice. I wonder what Tim Burton would think now.
Thanks so much, Lozzie and theReel for this little treat.

It's a brilliant piece, perfect in black and white. I do hope VDO doesn't mind that's it's on YouTube because it's a great way for his fans to get to see his work

Isn't he FANTASTIC???

You can tell how hard Vincent worked on the voice for this movie (what a shame his efforts weren't matched by his co-star, though.)

I feel cross when I think of Tim Burton deciding to dub his voice. The end result in "Ed Wood" is flat and lifeless, and doesn't go half way towards doing Vincent justice.

But then, you all knew that already.

Well, since it really does look as though he might have posted it himself, I am even more over the moon!

A direct link to the man himself :)

I don't think vdo630 and the real VDO are one and the same. I would if this was the only work that this person had posted, but there are other videos by vdo630 out on You Tube.

I'm very impressed by this performance. I also think his leading lady is wonderful. She looks familiar. Does anyone know if she's been in anything else?

Dear vdo630-
I have no idea how you got a hold of this but I thank you from the botton of my heart-
And to lozzie for finding it, you are a detective yourself-
To wait so long to see this performance only made it more precious-
Amazing job, Vincent-
You should be very proud of this brilliant vignette showing the fall but yet the still lingering brilliant talent of Orson Welles-
Vincent, you are not a good actor, you are a great actor-
Also loved the last line about actors knowing themselves-
Thank you all for such a priceless gift-
Regi.

Proof positive, once again, that the man is quite possibly the best actor of his generation.

I stand corrected. This looks like it was actually posted by the man himself. Sorry for doubting.

How very cool is that? Vincent wanted to share his work with his beloved fans. I love him sooo much!

actually domajo is right. because a woman uses vdo630 as a password on another site. and as you can see it has been stolen from her. and is being used elsewhere. such as youtube. as for this clip gotta love vdo.

This is my first post. But I have been visiting this brilliant site for a while.

I think this video was posted by Vincent if you click on the posters name vdo360 the poster's page has a short note that is obviously meant to be from vdo and who else would have access to the film other than Vincent and those close to him.

Also did anyone else see a posting by a carinvd?

Vincent's performance was breathtaking. I loved every second of it.

Thank you so much for being so kind and generous.

We have a golden opportunity now to take steps to promote this film and Vincent's part in it, and by so doing, say "thank you" to the man who has given us so much pleasure over the years. I don't suppose he has a full appreciation of how a shared interest in his work has had such an impact on people; people from all over the world, who as a result have formed friendships and associations that cross time zones and language barriers.

Some of my best friends are Vincent D'Onofrio Fans, dontcha know.

The more exposure " ... Welles" gets, then the better for him. He obviously worked very hard on it and it deserves a much much wider audience.

If you have a blog, or a MySpace page, or Facebook, or Bebo, or Multiply - in fact, ANY social networking site, then you can embed the film or at the very least post a link to it. If you fill in the "Tags" box for your blog/page/whatever with Vincent's name, then that will also help. These all come (eventually) to the attention of search engines like Google and Yahoo. It takes a while.

Sign up with imdb.com, if you've not already done so, and rate the film. Write a review. Add it to your list of favourites. Tell people on your friends' lists - send them a link to YouTube and ask them to go and visit. YouTube has an automatic counter that records how many times the film has been watched. In three days he's achieved about 1500, which ain't too shabby. So ... watch away! Post more comments. Give it a star rating. Make sure you are subscribed to VDO630 and that you add the film to your YouTube favourites.

I'm sorry if I sound like I am on a crusade here. It's because I'm on a crusade here. I haven't a hope in hell of ever meeting Vincent and saying "thank you" face to face, an idea I find tortuous, so this is my next-best-thing.

Obviously, someone has posted this, but there's not a shred of hard evidence - the stuff Bobby likes! - that it was the private, shy, Vincent D'Onofrio, other than it's HIS movie. Let's face it, anyone can claim to be anyone on the Net. And Mrs D'Onofrio commenting that her hubby is gorgeou? It may be a statement of fact, but it's about as likely as me having dinner with the real thing tonight. Let's just appreciate the movie is there to be seen.....

I am so overwhelmed with gratitude...thank you Sweet Vincent, for posting your film and Lozzie and the Reel for sharing it.

Dear Sweet Vincent,

I am blown away by your performance and production. Once again I am thoroughly drawn in by one of your facinating, mezmorizing portrayals. It appears Mr. Welles was quite a character in his own right. I was so completely transported back to the "Golden Age of Hollywood ", that when the film ended, I was surprised to find I was sitting in my living room in 2008.

You have every right to be proud of this work and I am absolutely thrilled to have had the opportunity to finally see it. Sharing your film with your fans is beyond generous and is greatly appreciated by us all.

You'll have to excuse me now. I am going to watch it again!

Love,
Susan

I'm grateful to vdo630 (whoever that is) for posting this to YouTube, but I'm sure the highly creative Vincent D'Onofrio would choose a clever, and probably obscure, screen name.

I find the more I watch this short, the funnier it is. VDO has put a lot of thought and heart into the role, and you can tell it means a lot to him. Best of all, he has the perfect fan base, full of vibrant, intelligent people that "get it", and appreciate what he is shooting for.

I'm convinced it is Vincent who posted it. My shred of hard evidence is the extraordinary quality of the copy he has uploaded. It isn't a bootleg or a pirate copy.

Who else would have a master copy? It would have to be someone on the production staff; someone therefore close to Vincent. What to they gain by alienating themselves with VDO by posting it without his authority? Unless of course someone broke into his house or office and NICKED IT???

Poor Vincent will end up having an identity crisis at this rate. I keep thinking of the breakdown scene in 'Steal This Movie' - "I am Abbie Hoffman! I am Abbie Hoffman! I AM ABBIE HOFFMAN!"
