Well, this is no real shock to me. I liked Noth as Logan on the mothership, but I think he's simply walked through his role on LOCI. He and significant other Tara recently bought a home in California, and their baby was born there. Plus with all the attention surrounding "Sex in the City," maybe a lowly cable TV show is, um, beneath him, IMHO. Too bad USA can't just give the whole 16 episodes to Kate and Vincent.

Wow, this is pretty big! If it's true, Jeff Goldblum could be interesting, but I'd see him being closer in style to a Goren than to a Logan, which could be a problem.
Thankfully, Vincent is too much of a gentleman and sweetheart to get himself fired or that would be the end of LOCI.
Hey, here's a thought— don't replace Noth, just have the A-team take over again.

oh stop.....

jeff goldblum a detective?
after fighting aliens and being turned into a fly....

i just dont see it

why not use the guy who played eams partner for a day and stood in for bobby when he was suspended. he did a good job. or some one else already in the major case office, you know, one of the guys that you see hanging around in the back ground during the shoots

not that jeff is a bad actor, i just dont see him as a major case personality.

but ya never know...
people surprise us everday.

I never cared much for Chris Noth anyway. He came to Nashville a few yeas back, and made the papers throwing a tantrum in a four star hotel lobby, seems he wanted a five star. They moved him. I liked the Logan character.

I enjoy watching Goldblum. He's quirky in reality so its should be interesting if its true to see what they do with him. Hopefully not grooming him to be so quirky he'd taken our beloveds place.

This is not a surprise because of the change in showrunner. Noth and VDO clearly worked creatively and happily with Leight and produced some of their best work under his guidance, like Endgame and Senseless.

It was obvious VDO enjoyed the current direction and his acting shone because of it.

I learnt to really like Noth and found his acting to be an inspiration.Maybe we shouldnt hold any of his his past behaviour against him. I wouldnt want anyone to view me through things Ive done in the past and regreted.

While on LOCI he became a father and he really worked on his character. He was a complimentory detective style to Goren and that suited the programme well.

If he is going, I thank him and wish him well.

Truthfully it is not surprising because recently Chris Noth did an interview in which he said there was a love/hate relationship with CI anyways for him. I never really liked the character Logan, even when he was on the mothership. That being said, I don't particularly care for Jeff Goldblum either, but I think they could shape his character to be somewhat like Goren's. It should be interesting if it is true.

Bummer. I liked Logan. I used to love VDO, but I am tired of the Groen saga. I just want to go back to a CRIME show, kwim? JG was good on Raines. The show was bad, but he did a great job with the insipid material they gave him. I could see him filling VDOs shoes easily.

Basric - what you say helps me figure out why this news worries me so much.

I fear that Goldblum will be taken on as a possible - future - "replacement" for Vincent as and when he decides he has had enough of Goren. There was never that threat with Chris Noth because his style is so vastly different.

Although I like Goldblum very much, I have to say that without Vincent and/or Kathryn in it, I shall not bother watching LOCI any more.

Goldblum was good on Raines. The show itelf was insipid, but he did a good job with what they gave hm to work with. I'd personally like to see VDO do something more interesting. Goren has just gotten to be a cliche. VDO is wasted here. I could easily see JG taking over the CI reigns and freeing up VDO to make more films. I just saw "There will be Blood." THAT is the kind of role VDO should be doing IMO.

Having another big star (albeit with a generally highr profile than Vincent) could be good for the show, but I'm not much fonder of Goldblum than I am of Noth. I understand that 16 G/E episodes would probably kill Vincent and Kate, so I'll opt for - ooh, how about Kevin Sorbo? Eye candy both nights! Not really, it's not him either. Maybe one of the old HLOTS crew?

I really don't watch the Logan episodes much, but would hate to see him leave. So if this is true all I have to say is "Welcome to California" to Chris, Tara, and Lil Orion

I just can't believe this! I always like Chris, both on the original and here. Loved him with Annabella and Alicia!

Goldblum - I'm not seeing this. And combining him with Julianne I think will kill the ratings on the G/E off weeks - which could affect the shows renewal next year.

The only reason to watch a Logan/Wheeler episode was to watch Chris - without him - I won't be watching those weeks.

Could this have been a $$$ thing? Vincent and Katie definitely deserve a raise.

I agree that it would be nice to see VDO commit himself to another high profile project that really stretches him and gives him artistic freedom. Watching him in the Welles film on Youtube really showed how wasted he is doing the same thing all the time.I would love to see him do other MAJOR projects. So much to offer beyond the procedural format.

Mr D'Onofrio has repeatedly said he's not going anywhere while there's a LOCI, so I don't understand this sudden worry that Goldblum might 'replace' Vincent. If Vincent goes, the show DIES. End of story. If Noth being fired (again?) is official, it's not the end of the world, but I can't see any way Vincent and Kathryn will ever go back to working all the episodes. Don't forget, both their marriages floundered during the early years of the show. They've brought in replacement partners for Logan, so I don't see what the problem is in bringing in a replacement for Logan, but no one, absolutely NO ONE, can fill Vincent's shoes! Just my opinion of course.

Well, we had the first 4 years of C.I. without Chris Noth and managed perfectly fine without him. As long as the 'A team' are still there, I don't see a problem. Jamie left, Courtney left, it wasn't the end of the show, it just moved on.

Ooh the thought of someone from HLOTS, can you imagine if they had Andre Braugher as a detective on CI, now that would be awesome

Is Chris Noth leaving connected with the rumor that Rene Balcer is returning as showrunner? So many rumors today.

Bye bye Noth! I never really watched Logan's episodes, as eagerly as I "chew on" every second of the "A team's" episodes...But Goldblum's a taleted actor, & I'd like to see some tension & some Üps and Downs" every now & then between Goren and the kind of detective that Goldblum would make...And for those VDO's fans who can't see Goldblum as a detective, all I can say is that you've probably never seen Mr. DÓnofior in "The Velocity Of Gary" and "Homicide: Life On The Streets"...
