Hopefully the....Vincent hasn't re-signed or re-upped crowd are now satisfied. He did say he'd be back. By doubting him, you basically called him a liar.
Wow Tess. Thats a pretty extreme, and borderline offensive interpretation of my previous musings (and I'm not nearly large enough to be called a 'crowd'). I do hope he's back as Goren in the new season, and it certainly looks like he is, although using footage of the current season in promos for bringing in Jeff Goldblum doesn't necessarily confirm that either. Just saying...one person's thoughts. Feel free to ignore me and not get stressed about it. I'm almost always wrong about these things.
One last point on whether Vincent will be 'there' or not for season 8, even if, since season 8 doesn't actually exist at the moment, it would be quite difficult for them to post a trailer of its content.
I can't imagine Dick Wolf would be telling the media about the new showrunner for Vincent and Kate, if Vincent wasn't going to be there. Mr Wolf would look awfully dumb if this was the case, and I don't think 'dumb' is something he's ever been called.
Yes, we are all entitled to our opinions, it just gets very wearing when, no matter what Vincent says about staying 'put' with the show - or, in this case, what Dick Wolf says as well - he's just not believed; and this has gone on now basically since the end of Season 5!
I'm looking forward to seeing season 8 WITH Vincent - and Kate.
Here's my opinion, for what it's worth, which isn't much, but.... :)
People have been surmising that Vincent had left/was leaving, or being 'replaced' (HA! as if they could!) since he collapsed during season 4, yet there he still is, bless his heart.
Mr D'Onofrio is on public record, several times now, saying he has the 'best job on TV', and that was when he was making 11 episodes. For season 8, he will only be making 8 episodes. He has a young family, they are based in New York, he can do other projects in his 'down-time', as long as he's still enjoying what he's doing on LOCI (which he says he is) and the scripts are good (new blood isn't necessarily a 'bad' thing)why would he NOT want to return? USA would also look incredibly foolish running a trailer with Vincent in it for season 8, if Vincent wasn't going to be there. Apart from anything else, I personally doubt that USA would have picked up the show for an 8th year without Vincent being there - but like I said, this is all just my opinion. And I'm sorry, but if Vincent says he's staying and someone else says he's not, that IS implying he's telling a lie, which I don't believe for one moment. If he was done, he'd have NO problem in saying so.
I'm completely with Tess and Diane, and don't agree with Kitty that they've been anything like offensive. What is offensive is people constantly nay-saying. Don't say, "Don't take any notice of me" Kitty. Just don't say the stuff in the first place. It's old, it's tired, it's disrespectful, and it's an abuse of "free speech". This is one place where people are generally on Vincent's side, not like some of the forums, which seem to exist just to knock him. Please don't let it deteriorate into a slanging match. You do have comment moderation, after all.
We all watch the show to see Vincemt -and possibly Kate, and possiby Eric...
But for heaven's sake, give Goldblum a tiny mini chance, too...!! Cut the poor man some slack.... Of course, just enough for him to be #2, no more (Hee hee hee)...
But seriously, folks, thjs is a teamwork. Breaking one of Vincent's teammates, won't help him shine more -this is a fact. just look at the way Vincent compliments the Ci's cast and crew - or every other director, writer, producer, actor,... he's ever worked with. How would it sound, if he just said: Everyone screwed up, except for me.....??
Everyone's entitled to their opinions, no doubt; just wait and watch 2-3 of Goldblums epis; If you realy hated him, there'd always be enough time for a decent revenge...!! Frankly, wouldn't you be a little discouraged, if all the comments made -only on this very single blog- about him, were about you...??
Hell, I don't like change either.... I hated the idea of watching Bobby & Eames every other week, too...But if it's a sacrifice to be made, for the sake of their health & hspiness, so be it... I've watched Goldblum, since I was a kid; and something tells me he'll be better than Noth -but not than Vincent -ever.
When Chris came on board I was resentful even knowing that this was good for Vincent-but I watched every episode, not just the Vincent ones-and in time I came to love and respect Noth as Logan and was very sad to have him leave- So yes I don't like change-never had any feelings one way or another about Jeff Goldblum, but of course I will watch all the episodes of CI because I want to support all of CI-also I love Julianne- Regi.
**wails** I'm so conflicted about JG - I have always LOVED what he does as an actor but for some reason I am resisting him being in my favourite television show. Something about it feels 'off' to me, and I cannot figure it out.
I'll try and keep an open mind and hopefully summon up enough of whatever I need to watch his efforts.

Hey! Jeff Goldblum! He's in the set of the 27th precinct, from the mothership!
I guess he worked for Lt. Van Buren, and then he got promoted by OnePP?

Not so fast Tess....
Nobody called him a liar.
It's just that what you plan, and what happenes to you, can be very different things -even for our favorite guy.
I sincerely hope that what he wants, is what he needs, and what he gets.
It's fantastic to have Bobby for another season; so just relax, and enjoy...
I don't like change-
Regi.
First impression?
Season 8 and gee, there's Vincent! What a surprise (not)
Goldblum - annoyed the crap out of me and he didn't utter one word. Then again, I don't watch for any other reason than to see Vincent.
I wasn't sure about Jeff, but how interesting! This season may get me watching every episode again.
