The timer is ticking..............pretty soon new shows!!
I suppose that, yesterday they were shooting at the "crime scene".
Today it's the investigation....
Being investigated by Bobby and Eames............
please,please,please some kind person post some pics. of them filming. we have had no new pictures of vincent for ages. i for one is going into withdrawal!!!! help!!
I'm in a rather good mood, since as of tonight, there'll be a LOCI marathon, on the satelite network, I watch.
Of course, it's no "Vincent's new pics.", but still, not so many things, can compare to it.......!!
does anyone know vincent's email address. i agree please post some pics for all us fans to see.
i hate that alot of our re-runs on usa and bravo have been logan eppies. and usa has taken the evening shows off completely.
now its ncis,phych, svu, monk and some other stuff.
ive been working evenings lately so its good to know that im not missing much any more
i even used to watch to one at 4am when i was wokring the breakfast meetings and had to be to work at 5:30 they show the same eppie again at 8pm in some areas
so now im just waiting for season 8 to begin, but we still have to share vince for jeffs eppies

i was just about to post the same thing but u beat me to it.
some one must have seen them by now and gotten some kind of pic.
i'd like to see if he changed his look for season 8.
but, like my girl"angels" said:
"he gets better every year."
phillipo and grrr
Susan;
I agree, that some -practically, even one!- pic.'d be really nice....
But I seriously doubt, if anyone would -or should- give out Mr. D'onofrio's email address -no matter how much we'd love them to....!!
There's a mail address on thereel homepage, and also our dear admins provided the Chelsea Piers Studio web add., where CI's being filmed:
www.chelseapiers.com
Maybe it'll give you a lead...
Good luck;
Saghy
Phillipo;
There was quite a long haul, before this Re-run; thats why this is a big night for me.
But thank god, they show alternate Bobby/Logan epis -with an occasional "extra dose" of our dear bobby...!!
But it's not the least surprising -the excessive Logan epis- it's an international trend -some kind of a tribute.
As soon as you lose someone, or something, you grow feelings for them.
Of course, our dear Vincent is an exception to the general rule:
Whether you have him, or not, you grow feelings for him........!!
Saghy
I also hate that USA took off the 7 p.m. episodes.
I don't know if anyone else here is near Philadephia, but WPHL-17 runs on episode of CI every morning at 7 a.m. They just restarted with season one last week - today's episode was the one with Kate Burton and John Heard.
I can't wait for the new epi's but at least I have 1, 2 and 3 on dvd and 6 and 7 goren/eames on tape.
sharon,
i have one crappy dvd
with 3 eppies
the good doctor
the last horseman
crazy and...
the one when the old man locks himself into his bathroom and dies from the smoke...um..
cant remember
usa would show one on tue and two on wed and thur nites,
another at 4am on usa and 8pm
monday thru fri , and them bravo on sundays 6 hrs
my disk is starting to skip and freeze.
i got it from blockbuster in the mail and...uh...never mind
phillipo
Okay here's another strange question from me........not sure it falls in this category, but, it does involve a shoot question...................
During each 8 day shooting schedule, is one episode REALLY filmed? I was doing a little browsing (day dreaming) while looking through caps of season 4. Looking at the length of Mr. D'Onofrio's hair, I came to the conclusion that, at least for a few episodes, they were not shot in sequence. Was that common then, or just a fluke because he was making "Five Minutes"? I find it hard to believe that a WHOLE show can be done in 8-10 days. I can see where most of a show can be put in a can, but there has to be some retakes or voice overs that may take place a month or two later.
Any one know what the average length of time it takes to put an episode together. The episode that is being filmed as we speak, will it take two shooting periods? Will this be the first shown in Nov.? Were any episodes shot this past summer before vacation?
Sorry, I'm just the curious type and am interested in how these things work.
Lori
Lori,
Ron Harris (Vincent's former stand-in) told us that "It takes 8 days to shoot a 1-hour episode... that's about 6 to 10 pages a day. Sometimes you'd shoot up to 12 pages a day. A 12-page day could take 14 to 16 hours. "
The Goren/Eames episode shooting now goes from Sept 15-24. The next episode "The Glory That Was" with Goldblum shoots Sept 25-Oct 6. If you count the days (without weekends) they are each 8 days.
They do not always air in the same sequence that they are filmed.
As far as post-production work, we do not know what time is involved in that.
If anyone has any additional information, please add it.
*Our interview with Ron Harris will be posted as soon as our site/blog page is redone and combined into one. Hopefully in October.
Lori;
This is probably no news;
It took 7 twelve-hour work days, to film "The Subway" epi. of "Homicide: Life On the Streets".
To my general, very limited knowledge, this usually includes the retakes.
In the world of tv-series, everything has to be done, in the most cost-effective way.
Apart from putting an awful lot of stress on eveyone involved -including our dear Vincent and Kathy; this also means, that re-schedueling for further retakes, is considered extreme measures.
As our dear admins mentioned, the epis are not necessarily filmed in the same sequence, that they're schedueled for airing; due to conditions such as the availability of a location, or a lead guest -at times, a lead actor- or a specific wheather condition, or event, etc....
Of course, this is all geral info -somewhat like "wikepidia"- nothing is excusively pertained to LOCI.
I'd love to see Mr. D'Onofrio, step in, and correct my humble opinions....!!
Ideas are welcome....
Saghy
Dear "thereel" people;
Stepping into the world of tv-series production, I got so caught up, that almost forgot to congratulate, and thank you, on the good news -your site/blog redo, and the interview....!!
can't wait to read - or watch- your interview with Vincent -someday....!!
The best of the best;
Saghy
Thanks!
