CI Season Premiere moved to 2009?

Reported on USA Network Boards:

"The premiere of Law & Order: Criminal Intent Season 8, originally scheduled for Friday, November 7th, has now been pushed back to 2009. The exact premiere date is not yet known but will be posted as soon as it is determined."

Sent in by Enaka, thank you.

*At time of this post, no additional information, press release or schedule change can be found.

Pfft, that's a bit of a blow, I reckon this has something to do with the SAG stuff going on at the moment, I know they moved the new HP film to Summer next year because of the writers' strike. I guess this will make it easier on the actors though as well as the writers as they won't be rushing so much.

I'm sorry, but I find this hard to believe. Considering all the time and money they're putting into season 8, I think USA would issue an official press release.....

I will believe it when they show a press release or something ;-)

The USA site still has the date of Season 8's premiere as 7th November AND the little promo is still there. It seems very strange to me to announce that with less than 2 weeks to go, they have suddenly changed their minds, but have left that information there. Surely it would have been removed the second the 'announcement' was made?

IF they HAVE decided to make us wait, then clearly, they've been taking 'torture' lessons from NBC. USA, I thought you were better than this!

I just saw an ad for Nov.7th. Please say some one's kidding with us. USA is not playing very nice to the fans of LOCI......I swear they're trying to kill the show. It survived the last strike. Hey, do the actors get paid when they film the show or when it's shown?? It'd be pretty stinky of USA to pay them when it's shown>

If this is so, it's time for either suicide - or MURDER!

Great plot for a future episode.

Still analysing the situation.

It's not April's Fool Day, or something, now, is it...??

Not another word on the USA Network, yet.

That is completely strange. The post on the USA Boards is made by the Board administrator. It looks very authentic.

Is it in any way possible that their boards could have been hacked, and this is some kind of very sick joke?

Since when did 'USA Admin' make any comment at all on the USA Board? It's a 'first' in my experience! I couldn't get in to comment last night, but apparently 'USA Admin' was logged in for a while, then vanished without any further clarification, which is what most people were asking for. Why would USA 'announce' such a major change on an Internet site, while still running season premier trailers on the channel? How come there's been no 'official' announcement anywhere else, and why is the Board now 'closed', while the site STILL has the trailer and the date as November 7th?

I think someone's yanking our chain (I hope!). Proof that the USA board need to either employ a moderator, who actually moderates, or comments moderation.

Phillipo,
We have also attempted to find out what's going on but so far, no answer.

If you read the reports posted here, there is NO strike at the moment, SAG have not even taken a vote for such action to the membership. Vincent has filmed 2 of his 8 episodes for season 8, with his 3rd one due to start filming next month. Jeff Goldblum should be filming his 2nd (?)at the moment. IF there's a strike, it MIGHT make sense for USA to hold back until they have more episodes in the bank, but it STILL doesn't explain why they'd announce such a move ONLY on their LOCI board site, and without removing all reference to 7th November - which they haven't. Despite the 'genuine' looking avatar for the so-called 'USA Admin', that's someone who appeared from out of nowhere yesterday, seemingly just to poop on our parade...I'm almost hoping it IS a troll - and there's something I never thought I'd say!

Oh my goodness. This cannot be true. It has to be someone who hacked in and jerking us around.

If it is true, I think we need to write massive amounts of letters to USA. Maybe the upcoming strike is the cause. Not a good time for a strike right now anyway. There's not a lot of sympathy when the economy is in such bad shape. I know they want their fair share of new media.

Oh this just can't be true. :(

Hummmm.....

So far, nothing's changed on the USA NETWORK site -neither the schedules, nor the trailer.

The whole thing might've been a hoax -or a hack of the site; as some blogers have suggested.

On the other hand -brace yourselves for this one- there could be something that the USA is still hesitating to announce...

Let's hope it turns out that Mr. Wolf is simply negotiating for a better schedule, and that there are -God forbid- no problems, or "health hazards" of any kind.

Oh dear..

Now it's officially on the USA NETWORK site:

http://www.usanetwork.com/series/

But it's Just a link, saying "NEW ORIGINAL EPISODES COMING IN 2009"

When you click on it, it'll take you to the good ol' page of the "November 7th" schedule.

You do the math....... -Saghy

The ONLY advantage I see to a delay is if they put LOCI on a different night than Friday. Friday nights can be a "death sentence" for a TV series. But to be honest, the "admin post" thing sounds like a troll to me.

There's been a post on the USA board, by "Mindsiview" -hope she/he doesn't mind me qouting their post:

**Today, 11:53 AM Post #65

"Being pushy and all, I phoned USA television -- after being transferred many times they gave me the number for the LOCI production office and nobody there knew anything about the show's new season being delayed. I told them what had been posted here and they said they'd check into it.

Sorry I couldn't get more info, folks..."**

Apparently, if you have the USA television phone # an you're really patient an persistent, you can get some first hand info about this dilemma.

Unfortunately, living on the other side of the world, I just have to sneak here & there, and hope for the best... -Saghy
