Mystic (WTNH) -- Mystic Pizza was Southeastern Connecticut's little secret until a movie put the pizza parlor on the map. Two decades later, the town and Mystic Pizza are celebrating the movie that made them famous.

It was exactly twenty years ago that Julia Roberts first served up a little slice of heaven. It was a moment in movie history which launched her career, along with worldwide recognition of this little pizza shop.

"Julia became so famous and that just kept it going year, after year," said Dede Smith of Mystic Pizza. Full article

"The Go-To Guy"
-excerpted_-
When Vincent D'Onofrio wanted to spend a night on a boat to learn firsthand what it was like to be a fisherman, Pryor and a pal drove him to the docks in Stonington Borough and introduced him to a fisherman. D'Onofrio went onboard the boat, which was rocking quite a bit. D'Onofrio went below deck but lasted about five minutes before seasickness got him.

The woozy D'Onofrio got off the boat and said, “OK, I think I learned everything I need to know.” Full article

There was, indeed, something magic about it back then; it's still there; showing through every moment of the film...

There are not so many movies, in which you can feel the warm devotion of the cast an crew, as Mystic Pizza.

It may not have been one of Vincent's most controvertial, critically acclaimed films, but is certainly a good one.

A smooth, well developed story-line, practically excellent acting, and professional directing.

And who can ever forget Vincent's impressive monologue, as he demonstrated almost everything a fisherman'd do on his boat.....

Obviously, he HAD learned everything he needed to know...!!

Happy 20th anniversary, to the whole cast and crew;

I know that this will sound weird but,........Vincent being seasick on a docked boat is kind of a "cute" story.......and humorous!

thank you for sharing this. i didn't know vincent had motion sickness. but hopefully he got off before he threw up. i once went to school with a girl who got seasick on boats. she has to take a pill 30 minutes prior to boarding a boat. we get to learn more about vincent everyday. that's great anyone else know that he had motion sickness that is news to me. i thank everyone for sharing.
