The 27th national location of southern-style barbecue restaurant Rib City opens for business at 4 p.m. Saturday, according to staffers there. The official grand opening is Friday, Nov. 7.

The restaurant, in the long-time location of Rick’s Cafe Americain at 1090 Old Des Peres Road, just off the eastbound lanes of Manchester Road about a block west of I-270. The restaurant has alleviated some of the visibility problems of the site by heightening a small tower at the front corner of the building. Phone is 314-965-RIBS (7427).

Rib City was founded in Fort Myers, Florida in 1989. There are 12 in Florida, plus 15 franchise locations in Washington, Utah, Colorado, Ohio, Michigan, Oregon and Missouri. The Sandy, Utah location is owned by actor Vincent D’Onofrio.

Thanks Keiko and Peachy!

I didn't think that this new restaurant had anything to do with Vincent and his sister. It just appears that ALL the Rib City franchisees are now reaping the benefits of Vincent's involvement in the Sandy branch. Cool!

I hope the hiccup (ha!) in the Season Eight schedule doesn't result in Vincent having to cancel his trip to Utah in December. I really want him to get his "Award" ... now I feel he deserves it more than ever!

There are lots of vacant shops in my town. Perhaps Vincent would like to open a franchise in the UK - pleeeeze!
