Thank you for the great pics. I don't think Jeff is a very good replacement for Chris, but he deserves a chance I guess.

Like Tess, I'm always thrilled when when Vincent puts his hands in his pockets and plants his feet, but I'm sorry, I laughed out loud at poor Jeff's attempt at an 'Alpha-Male' pose.
I hope I wasn't the only one whose PC took an absolute eternity to load thereel tonight ;0)

I think Vincent looks absolutely fantastic. Much fitter than in the last 2 seasons.
I must admit I prefer clean shaven men, but on Vincent he still looks great.
Goldblum looks like a geek and the suit looks dreadful. If he is trying to copy the look that Vincent had in the first three or four series then he is failing badly.
There is only only Vincent, and he is looking good.

So I guess I'm in the minority here but I do like Jeff Goldblum. I don't understand why it seems like some people think that he's taking over. He's not! Give him a chance, the season hasn't even started yet. It's a great show all around and I will be watching all of the episodes just like I did before. Peace out.

Hello Phillipo - sorry, that "Nivceburger" tag may have been me - it is the name that a less-than-sympathetic group of fans on LiveJournal have given him and I cannot get it out of my head now. It is stuck!!
As for those photogrpahs of Vincent and Kathryn ... um ... oh look.
I APPEARED TO HAVE DIED AND GONE TO HEAVEN.
I agree with Omerta, Jeff looks great so he isn't Vincent and he isn't trying to be( even the parisian Vincent gave that look)-you have to remember that there have been 4 members on the team since 2005 and not just Goren and Eames.

I love VDO as much as the next girl,but being harsh to Jeff?
He is in a suit because LOTS of detectives wear them.I think he will do a fine job,he a quirky but talented man.
No Jeff is not Vincent,nor is he Chris...he is Jeff.He will bring his talent to the show and play his role well.
There can be multiple focuses in shows without it turning into a competition,amongst fans of this or that one.
I am fans of both.I was excited to hear Jeff would be coming to CI,I am shocked and saddened for him that people have received him negatively.
To explain what you dislike about a character after actually seeing it is fine,but to do that to the actor because he seems to some an interloper?
Give the man a chance.He is not there to replace or upstage anyone,he is there to supplement.
Well;
Vincent could be a "Cheesieburger".
He can be a stake....
Or a veggi salad....
He can play a midget; if he wants to.....!!!
He's a magnificent actor; he can be anyone, or anything.....
It simply depends on what one's favorite food is.......!!!!

Let's not forget why Chris Noth came on board. It's exactly the same reason that Jeff Goldblum will be there; to ensure Vincent's (and probably Katy's) workload is sustainable - period. He's not joined the cast because the ratings needed a boost, or because the show was somehow failing. If some find Jeff's stance in the pictures amusing (I do too), I don't see that there's anything wrong in saying so. Heaven knows, Vincent gets insulted - and I do mean INSULTED; not the gentle fun being poked here at Jeff - on a regular basis in some places, some of which should employ comments moderator in my opinion.
The only people suggesting Jeff was 'taking over' from Vincent were the ever-present 'Vincent is Leaving' Brigade, (established 2004 and never quiet since) who were soon out in force (again) at the Boards, the minute that picture of the 4 detectives, with Vincent off in the background was published - and I didn't like that one either!
I'm really looking forward to season 8, but I'd be lying if I said that had anything at all to do with Mr Goldblum ;)

One thing's for sure; Mr. Wolf didn't bother for the best photographer in town -with all due respect.
On the other hand, people are entitled to their opinions -without necessarily being cruel.
I agree with Elizabeth; some people seem to get off on insulting respected people.
Maybe it's up to us, to poke such boards around, as often as we can -even if only manage a tiny pore.
At the very least, we owe that, to our favorite guy, and his co-workers -including Mr. Goldblum.

that was such a positive comment i've ever read. you impressed me. without jg on the board, then vdo leaves. i am giving him a chance to see if he can keep the show on top, like i did with chris noth. ;-)
Good for you enaka.I wasn't happy when Noth came on board,I confess,I hated the whole idea.However,if he was what kept Vincent on,then I was willing to give him a try.To be honest,I didn't like his character but the episodes with Whoopi Goldberg were some of my favorites.
I hate skipping weeks of CI,I truly hope I like how JG will be as a detective because it still lends some seasonal continuity that I haven't felt from the show since they created this dualistic thing.
But once anyone tries something and then shrugs it off,that's individuality at it's most basic.
