I understand Goldblum is the new guy, and they want to promote him, but really? Front and center. Nope....Not happy with this, and where is Eric Bogosian?

Not only is Goldblum in the foreground, but he is the only one of the Detectives professionally dressed in a suit. Is this to present an "in charge" persona?
Guys, Eames is at the front, too. If I was a new fan, I would think that Nichols and Eames were the star detectives.
It's just one photo, I'm pretty sure there's gonna be more. :)

I think it maybe because Jeff is taller than Vincent ( by about an in inch to half inch) the tallest goes to the front-its a great photo-its about time we saw them and I am sure there will be more, maybe Eric wasn't on location the day it was taken.
What???? I'm really disappointed in this pic, and am counting on more pics with Goren front & center to surface. Just don't like this one bit!
I guess I'm like the only one that likes this. I love Bobby, don't get me wrong. He IS the show.
But seriously, I love Jeff too, I think he's going to be good, provided he's given a good story. Logan was just annoying for the last half of the 7th season, it was clear that the guy was fed up with it all.
Jeff's not going to take over the show, he obviously can't, but let the guy have a little publicity. They don't need to sell Bobby to anyone, we already love him. There'll be more pictures.
I've tried to be measured, calm and collected about this picture, telling myself that Jeff Goldblum had nothing to do with it, that putting Vincent in the foreground, no one would see beyond him. I even went away, then came back to see if I felt any different but....I don't.
I'm completely incensed!
It looks like, just before they clicked the shutter, someone said 'Hey, where's that other guy from the show? The one that works with Kate? Guess he should be in this one....'
I hope USA are not thinking that Goldblum is a bigger 'name' than Vincent, so they're throwing all their weight behind him and I very much look forward to seeing new promo photos for Season 8, where Jeff is either a dot in the distance, or is not present at all.
I know, I know, it's not his 'fault', but this is really too much to bear....and was Eric Bogosian on vacation at the time it was taken?

No, this photo puts BOBBY in the background and he is not in the back kind of person. This has annoyed me, also. Goldblum appears to be the man in charge------not so.

I noticed that VDO and Nicholson are wearing the SAME color of shirt... hmmm... Probably it is a publicity ad to get some JG fans to watch LOCI. And also... someone is missing. What's up with that?

Second picture is MUCH better, but I think it's back-to-front. Kate's fringe is the wrong side, and Vincent's beautiful face looks a little 'off'. If you take a mirror and look at the reflection of it, THEN it looks tickety-boo....or am I imagining things, because I'm still annoyed about Goldblum being 'front and centre'in that first pic?

Jeff Goldblum needs to be advertised, being the new kid on the block, but Vincent D'onofrio should have been in the front of the photo considering he's the reason I watch LOCI. The photo of Goren and Eames was nice. Thankyou for posting the photo's. I look forward to the new season beginning. KRod

Folks, I don't really like this picture, either; as already mentioned; so there's nothing new about it.
With all due respect to Mr. golblum, a good actor, but Never #1, compared to Mr. D'Onofrio; it seems like right before shutting the clicker, Mr. Goldblum came running, out of nowhere, shouting: "Hey...hey....wait...!! What about me...? What about ME?!" And jumped right in front of evertone...!!!
Maybe that's why Vincent looks as if he's trying to ignor this childish behavior.....!!
But, seriously folks, the other reason I don't like this pic -apart from someone bloking my favorite guy- is that this wasn't the right time for it.
This picture tells a story -rather, helps you remember a story- it was more suitable for around the time when season 8 finali would be aired...
It tells the story of the four detectives: Zach seems to be an arrogant guy, with a shrewd eye; who actually considers himself much smarter than he really is; always meddling in others business, trying to take charge; critisizing everyone's work, and telling them what to, and not to, do.
Bobby, on the other hand, seems to be unaffected bt this "ado"; observing, and analyzing everything, from where he stands; saving his place, to come out in the end, and say the last word.
Both the lady detectives are somewhat affected by Zach, Wheeler seemes baffled, and Eames is looking away, intentonally....
As for Capt. Ross; he actually interacts with the four dets. on a different level; his presence in the pic. would imply a whole different meaning....
And frankly; with Bobby, he is in charge, as long as he's carefullenough to give bobby his space, to do what he does best; or when Eames uses her tacts, to lure him into doing so....!!
With the new quirky det. on the squade, he'd be more of a coordinator -if he's really wise and tactful- or together, Bobby and Zach wíll shake up the whole NYPD, and take capt. down with them...

Why are you blaming Jeff, that's the way the Photographer chose to set the photo up-if you need someone to blame blame them not Jeff-the poor man hasn't even started yet and you already hating him( without teamB there wouldn't be teamA-thus no Vincent to watch), I don't think he is going to take over either-I think the backdrop on the second photo is a bit bright-I think both Goren and Nichols will be the brains around MC.

I've been waiting for two months for some new photos, man I hope they have some better ones than these, not attractive in the least, sorry but I am entitled to my opinion.
In the first photo, it looks like they are all just photoshopped into the pic, in front of the background. It really is a poor piece of promo, whether you consider Vincent's incorrect placement in the photo or not. It's just not good photography and I really hope USA comes up with better stuff than this to promote the show.
haven't posted in a bit, but there was all this new promotional stuff for the upcoming season.
I'm not thrilled with what i'm seeing so far. Yes, the photographer placed them this way--but that's usually because the powers that be tell them they're looking for a type of shot. Photographers take their cues from their clients, and if the client is asking for this...

I'm hoping those clever USA people will release more promos like those that kicked off last season. I'd love some levity so we get the adorable Vincent smile— you know, the one with that wry, little crease above the right side of his mouth.

i think, with vince being the kind of man that he is..that it was probably his idea to put jeff in the front.
think about our guy, how humble he is and how supportive he is of others.
i would bet anything vince stepped back on his own.
i also mentioned that i think jeff is creepy.since that fly movie he will alway seem weird.

u can tell by jeffs stance that he is happy to be where he is but didnt really expect it.
vince, in his own way, is humbley passing the tourch,
he doesnt want the lime lite, he never has. he just wants to move on to directing and producing, not to mention having some peace amd time for his family life.
being number one takes a toll on u.
he's ready to step back and let some one else get bombarded.
he didnt really like the attention to begin with but he accepted it as part of his job.
had any one notied that goldblum has never been compared to taking noths place, only to living up to vincents high standard?

Thanks for the welcome Phillipo, I actually used to be a regular back in the beginning of this site ( so I have been a fan since 2003-4)but then the site got an influx of trolls and I wans't interested in that caper so I now am a reader but if I want to post I do.
The picture of Goren and Eames is, as Diane rightly points out, back-to-front. Goren's badge is on the wrong side.
It is the same for the Niceburger/Wheeler picture (not shown here) - Niceburger's jacket pocket is on the right instead of the left. My husband was a tailor for twenty years and he says that is just ALL WRONG LOL.

It's nice to see that Vincent's fans are actualy on guard; keeping an eye for the slightest move that implies anything but praise and appreciation for our favorite guy -which he truely deserves.
With all due respect, folks, I can't help, but picturing what our dear blogmate, lozzie cap said, a couple of days ago -about making a comment , and then going back under the slimy rock, from whence one's come, to watch CI in peace...!!!
And it's a good thing -being there for someone you care for, at the slightest sign of the "down times".
Some of the presumably new mates on the blog, are actually quite familliar.
Jazzy and Tooraf (Ali:))are both known for their fantastic fan vids about vincent and CI on the YouTube, other screen names ring a bell, too....
Anyway, it's heart warming to count the comments on this post -37 for now- knowing that you're all out there....... You know the rest.

While still blushing, I'd have to be honest, and ask you to take the due time -and patience- to read some of the darkest, most pessimistic comments, I've made on the possible SAG strike...
And as for our dear Vincent; if he reads all these comments, I think that he'll laugh -a warm laughter, then a deep smile...
And Í have to agree, that Vincent might have had a hand in this; the original idea might've been something like Fuzzytweetie has suggested; but this one was a very smart move after all -it got us all stirred up, now, didn't it...??

Very interesting point; and a frightening one, too -either it's too much for my IQ, or I'll have to make an appointment with an ophtalmologits, fast...!!
I even used windows magnifying option; but alas; still see poor Goldblum's jacket pocket on the left side -just like Vincent's.
Kathy and Nicholson are wearing their shields on opposite sides; while on the picture form "Yahoo Tv Fall Preview" Vincent's wearing his Shield on the very same side -left upper jacket pocket, where all shields, badges, or labels, are worn, internationally.

As for the flip, it's not bad omen.....
IT's quite easy to flip a digital photo, in case it'd give the viewer a better perspective, or imply the intended message, more efficiently.
And depending on whether your stronger eye is the left, or the right one, your mind would "read" the picture in a different way.
It certainly has a better composition this way...
So don't worry folks; Vincent will always shine, even in the background -not so many people can do that.

I'm thinking that they are pushing Goldblum because Vincent will soon be gone. He states in about every other interview he gives that he is leaving the show to do other things. On another subject, I don't know who's idea it was to write the leading man of a series looking like someone had to come along and drag him out of the gutter each morning in order for him to come to work, but it is getting old. I have five uncles in various areas of law enforcement. They all say t5hat anyone with these obvious emotional issues would have been gone long ago. Clean him up, dress him up, give him the attitude he used to have and get this show back on track.

Yes..i agree,It is strange they through Jeff in front of Vincent in that promo shot,when he's really carried the show since the beginning...Sweet Little Katie should be in the front!
