Katie asks - Is there any information from USA, on a possible airing time date for L&O Criminal Intent season 8? I have read on a site it is scheduled for Spring 2009, thanks
Though it was originally planning to air new episodes this fall, the series was moved up in order to air all 16 episodes uninterrupted. They will probably begin airing it in April, a publicist says.

So, now we've had November 6th, November 7th 2008, 'Q1 2009', April, I've also seen 'May' AND 'Summer' being quoted.
I think all we can say with any certainty is that, at SOME point next year, we'll get Season 8 - we hope!
I am really concerned that this extensive time off between seasons 7 and 8 could mean "the end" for our beloved LOCI. I am surprised that USA doesn't understand that. My guess is, it will be a way for USA to air some original programming, which may be a rarity, once the actors' strike is in full force. But it may be done at the cost of allowing the show's popularity to tailspin because of such a long hiatus. Or maybe USA ALREADY knows this is the last season for LOCI, so they just don't care? Are they pissed that they are only getting 16 episodes instead of 22?
The only comforting news is that CI is not the only one to suffer from the mixed up schedules after the writers strike-
Kiefer Suthderland was just on all the talk shows as they did a special movie for 24 because the regular series won't resume until a full year after the last season-
As with the same for Denis Leary's Rescue Me-
So CI is not alone-

Since they're already filming Season 8 right now, I can't imagine even USA are dumb enough to pay out for something to be filmed and then not show it. As for a 9th year, we'll just have to wait and see what happens when renewal time comes around. The LOCI faithful will be waiting for it's return and news.....as usual!
