A number of my friends and associates are big fans of Rib City restaurant in Sandy (and also American Fork). I, however, had never made the trek there until last week when I had the opportunity to interview Law & Order: Criminal Intent star Vincent D’Onofrio. His sister Toni Jorgensen and her husband Ron opened both of the Utah Rib City restaurants, and D’Onofrio is also involved. He was kind enough to take time out from important charity work to sit down with me for a quick lunch at the Sandy restaurant.
D’Onofrio and his Rib City “family” help raise donations for charities like Shop With a Cop (in which kids go shopping with police officers for Christmas at Kmart), Cops & Kids Sharing Christmas and The Fallen Officer Memorial Fund. D’Onofrio and his wife are involved in a number of charitable organizations but prefer to keep quiet about them—except, that is, for when meeting the public, signing autographs and posing for photos might help to generate a donation or two. D’Onofrio and his family are, as they say, good people. More than talking about his next movie or TV show, he was thrilled to tell me about the guy who walked up to him and the police chief of American Fork the night before and handed him a $700 donation.
“That’s going straight to the kids!” D’Onofrio says, excitedly. He can hardly contain his enthusiasm when he talks about how donations large and small might improve an underprivileged kid’s Christmas.
As the actor tucked into a plate of tender Bar-B-Q Chicken ($8.99) based with sweet barbecue sauce, I asked how a smart and successful, talented, Brooklyn-born guy of Italian descent got sucked into the restaurant biz. Why is he pimping barbecue rather than braciole? Full article

It is so pleasure to see Vincent working busily on charity events outside the show. It is a relaxation for him. Thank you for posting!
What a shame they sent an overly-smart (or so he clearly thinks!) asshole to interview Vincent. The whole thing made me want to throw a plate of something over his stupid head!!! Well done Vincent for putting up with him (and not throwing something over his stupid head).
Well it' interesting to know Vincent does not like fish. Another little tidbit about the man to store away. And that he worked in a fish market. I have never heard that before.
Hope you have a wonderful day and peaceful night.
It must have been especially galling to him to have played fishermen three times!
I just love hearing Vincent talk as a real person-this is such a treat-and he is such a doll-
Regi.
I thought the reporter was very nice and complimentary to Vincent, his sister and Rib City. He was just trying to relate everything to food, since the article was in a dining blog.
A great photo of Toni, her husband & VDO.
well i for one didnt appreciate that he used vd instead of vdo like everyone else..just for the the sake of respect?
jon(my partner) and i gave $100. it was worth every penny just to hang out with him for a minute. we thought(after it was too late)that it would have been cool to buy toys and stuffed animals and maybe start a little toy drive. maybe we'll suggest it for next year (even if we do move to santa cruz, ca) we'd still go see him again and contribute.
we'd would attend and contribute to any fundraiser he'd host if he came to navada or california.
he's just such a good hearted guy, who wouldnt want to follow in his footsteps.
off subject. why havent they released his interview in on good things in utah. i just knew i'd get to see it again by now on the reel or youtube or t13p. we werent there, we watched it from the hotel, but others would like to see it im sure.
oh and off subject...again
if mr wolfe had never hired vince we wouldnt know him
so..happy belated b-day mr wolfe

PPS.:
How sad, that noone congratulated Mr. Wolf's birthday here -except Phillipo, of course.......
We'd have never had the pleasure of knowing Bobby Goren -and some Vincent fans might've never had the pleasure of kowing "Vincent D'Onofrio", had it not been for Mr. Wolf's talent andd efforts.....
Wish them both the best, and several years of successful cooperation...!!
