Goldblum Gives the Skinny on New 'CI'
1.8.09 - TV INSIDER: Goldblum Gives the Skinny on New 'CI'
With the eighth season of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" just around the corner -- it premieres Feb. 5 -- soon viewers will get to judge for themselves how well Jeff Goldblum follows the tough act of his hugely-popular predecessor, Chris Noth.
Some of Goldblum's own talents are being incorporated into his character, Det. Zach Nichols. The actor tells us, for instance, that Nichols plays jazz piano, and tends to play when mulling questions pertaining to his cases. Goldblum is a jazz pianist in real life. Nichols will have quirks. Wouldn't people be disappointed if there was a Jeff Goldblum character without quirks at this point? Full article

by Nikki Wiengartner
What to do during these financially arid evenings? Well, if you are like millions of Americans, that television hooked up to its pricey cable service could become a newly utilized resource. Here is the scoop on whats new, returning and departing.
The holidays are over and the new year is underway. With most purse strings tied in knots, there may be a few more people enjoying the boob tube these days. So whats hot and whats not?
Well, if you are an avid TV watcher like the majority of the country, its safe to say you probably have your select favs. But for those who are new or out of touch to one of our favourite past times, here is a summary of the upcoming premiers.
....On the beat, Law & Order: CI has a sheriff in town, Jeff Goldblum starting February 5th on USA. "24" is once again making its way to TV screens on January 11th on Fox for another day in the Jack Bower drama. Full article.

Everyone seems to know when CI is going to premiere except USA! Still no official announcement, and they're certainly not advertising new episodes.
I wonder why USA is finding it so difficult to pick a start date?Enough already!
Would be nice if it were true! I'm crossing my fingers!
Like I said before....."I believes it when I sees it". I won't hold my breath but, God I want G/E!!
If I crossed all my fingers AND toes, I wonder if that would make it come true. I miss Bobby (and Eames too)!!!
Since this is a recycled Goldblum interview, they probably just copied over the same misinformation on the return date from some other site.
when I actually see a new episode on the screen, then I will believe it has begun. Even if USA takes out a full page ad in VARIETY and run commercials every hour. Benn burned in September, not believing anything till I SEE IT.
NEW EPISODES OF LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT RETURN IN 2009 - that's ALL it says over at USA. What it does NOT say is anything at all about Feb 5th. This still seems like the date that came out of Wikipedia, the place anyone can post any information they like, bogus or not. You'd think if Season 8 was SO close, USA might decide it was a good idea to trailer it/update the site etc.etc. Put it this way, it would be great if it were true, but I'm certainly not holding my breath....The last Google alert I got said March/April.
Aw Amy, you just burst my little bubble... :(
Well;
Certainly hope that Mr. Noth has actaully managed to be "hughly popular" -for the sake of my favorite show, of course- and Mr. Goldblum can be even "hugher popular" -again, for the sake of CI, even though he really is a great actor- but never more than Vincent...!!
BTW; I'm experiencing some quite unsavory difficulties; apparently my country's IPs suddenly got the spectacular idea that blogging was "inappropriate"....!!
So for now, I'll have to use an anti-censorship website to waste everyone's precious time, with my comments...!!
Tomorrow'll be another day....
Have a nice weekend everyone;
Saghy
